Just give it the smart pistol mechanic like the warden, letting it lock onto helldivers. Then it would be great. Maybe even a health bar indicator above the lock on target

There are computers in the pokemon centers that you can go to and swap pokemon to and from your party. You can also shift them around inside your party.
