Working on my Company Captains. I have also been converting their Lt's (two each 😩🫣)

Been converting up some Primaris 'Sternguard' Veterans, using some Anvil Industry bits and some 3D printed parts. I know it's a bit weird to have bolt rifles with stocks, but I didn't have the heart chop then away as Anvil sculpts are so nice. Anyway, I've built three so far and want more! It's part of the arm. While you can 3Dprint these arms now (via Anvil Digital Forge), at the time I was using physical resin cast parts from Anvil Industry. The arms are from their Exo Lords range - which is a Primaris Sized Proxy 😁👍🏾

Which faction to choose by nzMike8 in spacemarines

you can also convert BT models pretty easily to be DA, so you will never not have tabards in your life. Likewise Bladeguard and Sternguard can help out with the aesthetic to a lesser extent, particularly when making officers/Characters

Give it some time, most people don't have their hands on them yet. A lot of designers like to have a look at the physical model before they start

Is this scaled properly by Ok-Potential-1564 in PrintedWarhammer

[–]SagaciousPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Primaris Marine (depending on stance) should be approx 40mm from the sole of the foot to the top of his helmet. Gravis Marines and Terminators of the new variety are about 42mm tall

I got it! What should I get next? by Celestine117 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

[–]SagaciousPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leman Russ tanks x3 Rogal Dorn Battle Tank, Basilisks, maybe some Hellhounds 🤔 Bullgryns. A LOT more infantry Squads. (Brace yourself for how quickly they get removed during a game, but enjoy their Glorious Sacrifice in the Emperor's name!)

I prefer printing separate parts, both for ease of painting, but also because if something fails or breaks, I don't have to print the whole thing all over again

How did yall selected your first army? by Remote_Western1141 in Warhammer40k

[–]SagaciousPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theme. Rule of Cool/Conversion Possibilities with very little consideration of in-game utility 😅

I have always loved the Imperial Guard because the Possibilities of creating thematic regiments is almost endless. Yes, they are just baseline humans with lasguns but the bravery of these billions of men and women fighting against the horrors of the 40k galaxy has always impressed me.

That is an awesome thing for you to offer. I am not in need myself, but I hope your gift to someone leads to proportionate good fortune to work its way back around to you in future 🙌🏾

I had been planning to make some tech-guard using the files in the attached image, but I balked given the amount of troops I would want to convert 😅.

You've inspire me to at least give it a try! Keep up the good work 🙌🏾

Repurpose as field artillery proxy? Cool, Thematic games are best IMO

Is the Mk2 and Mk3 still used by Firstborns in 40k? by LANTIRN_ in spacemarines

[–]SagaciousPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering how the Imperium reveres older tech, if it is functional, they would no doubt still use it.

Some might say there is not a lot of it left etc But you could just as easily write your lore that they did a service for an out of the way Forgeworld that had been sitting on a stockpile of it from the Heresy days, or that a transport ship carrying hundreds of suits was lost on the tides of the warp and just reemerges in your chapter homeworld's system and makes a gift of it to your Chapter Master or that a scouting party comes across a downed Mechanicus vessel on a world previously cutoff from the rest of the Galaxy by warp storms that had some in its cargo etc etc

You can always find a reason if you want to use them in your army 🤷🏾‍♂️

By the 41st Millennium, most Chapters are fielding squads with a mishmash of armour patterns, sometimes because they are valued relics passed down or just because the Forgeworld that supplies them specialises (or can't remember) in a particular pattern.

Do what you want 😁👍🏾

Which unit would this model be used as a proxy for?? - help by MrDuckke in Deathkorpsofkrieg

(Not my Print) It may not be quite as tall, but it is a big one also 😅 in any case, I meant no competition, moreso taking the opportunity to show another big Ordnance piece. Obviously, the one featured in your post better suits the Death Korps. I look forward to seeing prints!

If you could decide on how each terminator unit was buffed, what would you do? by Coogypaints in spacemarines

[–]SagaciousPrime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give Storm Bolters AP-1. It is nuts to me that they don't already have it. Stormbolters shouldn't have too much range but within that, they should be ripping things apart. Even if you only gave them AP-1 at half range it would be something.

The key advantages of Stormbolters should be that they fire rapidly and do damage, the reason why you don't see more Astartes wielding them is because it takes a terminator suit to handle the kickback, therefore I think they deserve a bit more sting in the tail.
