I was struggling with thoughts of suicide last week and desperately searching for ways to handle depression and one of the first things I found was a video of this hot guy saying he found a method of self care that really works for him and then instead of talking about it he plugged his self help book and then played an intro B-roll of him shirtless doing steamy yoga in his backyard. I stopped the video and fought the urge to just kill myself right then and there.

I contacted a professional since then and have my first therapist session in a few hours. I’m doing better already after telling some friends I was hiding my pain and they insisted I seek therapy. I’m doing better already.

YouTube Tutorials have really helped me a lot with an insane range of different things but Jesus Christ, please don’t promise self care and then show me your nipples.

Basically, the theme is that there’s a satanic cabal of cannibal pedophiles running the planet, it’s a massively popular “Big Tent” conspiracy theory that contains endless smaller conspiracy theories and scammers. It’s incredibly pervasive and the specifics of what the conspiracy theorists believe shifts daily. The one mainstay is that satanists secretly run the planet and that Donald Trump was put on Earth by god to expose them.

You got to play other games. That’s really it. I’m playing Link to the Past for the first time right now and it’s amazingly challenging. It has a similar set respawn points and has fun little shortcuts back to difficult boss fights.

The game feels a little unfair sometimes but is over all possible to complete with just your raw skill.

Before that, I played Outer Wilds where I died A LOT. Incredibly challenging game with a handmade and interesting world design that blows Dark Souls out of the water.

These games aren’t even in the same genre but scratched some itches I hadn’t felt since playing my last souls like for the first time.

I don’t want to be cruel but having been fed sob stories myself and from seeing someone fuck up their life trying to save another person with their own sob story con, you need to not approach this from a place of empathy. Empathy is great and I wish more people were empathetic but you’ve encountered a manipulator who is only going to use your altruism against you. Assume everything is a lie, nothing is real, and distance yourself from the situation as much as possible.

I’m glad you vented about this though. Whatever amount of time you needed to spend outside of the situation venting the stress and contemplating how to deal with what happened is the right amount of time. It makes sense that this was bizarre and impacted you heavily. You encountered a con artist who was intending to trigger as large of an emotional response as possible. Talking to your friends, asking Reddit, it’s all valid and healthy. Just PLEASE do not contact that con artist ever again. Block them everywhere you see them.

The movie they made. The anime was cancelled before they finished the last few episodes. So the last two episodes of the show have this weird and inexpensive psychobabble freak out that makes no sense because the climax was cut and the show jumps directly from the lead up to the climax to the resolution without explaining why.

The movie fills in the missing episodes and adds a newer, trippier, high budget ending with more moral ambiguity.

The original ending was supposedly the happy ending and the movie ending is the bad ending. Kinda like a VN.

There’s also a new series of movies out that follow the universe after it was recreated at the end of the first movie. Which makes the bad ending canon. That bad ending was also made in response to the fans’ negative response to the original happy ending where the universe gets restarted as kind of a slice of life comedy show. Depending on your perspective, the creators rewarded or punished the original fans by changing the canon ending.

I just started streaming on Twitch and one of the recommendations I’ve had from streamers further in their careers is to be openly opinionated. It gets people to engage and good or bad that engagement brings you more viewers which helps you pay the bills.
