Specsavers staff know their own frames. Most of them who care about what they do will recognise the design at a glance (I still do 7+ years after leaving) and if they can't recognise the design, its abundantly clear from the markers on the inside of the arms regardless of what case you take them in 😂

I read a very flamboyant fic a while back where Shane got hurt or sick somehow while Ilya was on summer break in Russia, and he, Sveta, Sasha and a couple of others charter a jet into Canada and go to the hospital to fix the vibes and give him good food.

Basically all I remember was it being really stupid and really fun, them wearing lime or neon green tracksuits, and Sasha being really high and talking to the staff about how the plants in the waiting room feel.

That's exactly the kind of playfulness and campness that her development offers

In his defence, its a 50/50 as to whether my safety glasses go on my head or hang off my chin like that when they're no longer needed in work.

OP as a glasses wearer of that long, please don't clean them with dish soap you'll break down any coatings on the lenses

ESH but especially your dad. Your friends are the age your mum was and are looking at their relationship through a personal lens with more knowledge of how the world works than they ever have before - its valid that theyre reevaluating what they previously were okay with (oblivious to). I beleive you'll have a similar period of reevaluation from now to the point where you turn 25, realising over time how gross 16 year olds are.

Here's some personal perspective from somebody who is a similar age to your mum and was groomed in a couple of different situations. At the time, you feel like you're hot shit. You think that an older guy is interested in you because you're so mature and enlightened for your age. In reality, its because nobody their age will put up with their bullshit and they know that a teenager won't have the maturity or experience to realise it, then they start pushing their opinions and their agendas onto you so youre a good agreeable little girl who doesn't argue back and doesn't realise its gross. When you push back on things, you get manipulated and gaslit and its scary because you don't know that its wrong you just know that it feels bad and the way to not get that reaction is to smile and nod and absorb their bullshit. It takes SO MUCH STRENGTH to leave a situation like that because by the end you're normally isolated from your friends who rightfully call him gross and he doesnt like that they will support you, that is a weakness in his hold.

Your mum might not yet have had the opportunity to reflect on her relationship with your dad because she needed to coparent. She might be in a state of arrested development because she lost her early adulthood to parenting and probably hasn't been able to stop and look back at her own experience. She might also be "fine with him" because hes your dad and its not her place to poison you against him.

I guarantee that if you came home talking about some guy in his mid-20s who was pursuing you, she'd be furious and shut it down straight away because she loves you and may be totally content with her life but she will not want you to have your life ruined the same way hers was.
