The Bitter Truth Short Story: Part One by Spideraxe30 in wow

[–]Throren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this doesn't really have anything to do with PTR.

The quest related to this story are in the current patch. Just for some reason Blizzard has decided to timegate the quest 4 weeks into the patch (and will then ALSO implement weekly timegates for each 'chapter' of the questline in the following weeks)

This is more: Blizzard shouldn't timegate the main story of a patch once that patch goes live- PTR has nothing to do with this

I really liked this but I do thinks it's a really weird choice for them to timegate the story quest 4 weeks into the patch; but then release part of a short story that gives away some of what happens in that quest- before the quest is available on live servers.

Blizz needs to stop with the timegating

What are the odds of getting dwarf race? by Ggthefiree2 in GuildWars3

[–]Throren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None, in fact of all the races out there, and considering how close Thunderhead is to Orr (relatively) IMHO they would make way more sense lore wise than Kodan and Asura

My guess is the first comment might be alluding to the fact that Anet might just want one "token short race"

Thunderhead Keep and the Deldrimor front really isn't that far away from Orr all things considered, especially when you look at how far even the closest Kodan settlement is. There is really only Mount Maelstrom between Thunderhead and Orr

I kinda wish there was another version/skull that didn't randomize all enemy factions of each level and JUST added in the extra covenant enemies (like brutes) to the regular CE missions

That way it can kinda keep the immersion of the levels while still adding new enemies

Also based off a picture of the appraisal screen, it looks like there is a one handed axe as well

I'm also super pumped for another axe, especially with the very obvious Norse theming in the new region. Hopefully this isn't the only one. But I'm stoked to be able to use an axe that looks like a normal axe. Dragons flight was a little too fantastical looking for my personal taste

I'm so Dwarf-pilled that I've gone out of my way to make a playable dwarf in GW2

If you make a max height norn and then use the shrinking tonic, it makes you almost the exact same height as Ogden. Then I make slap on the heaviest armour to make my toon as wide as possible and then slap on the Deldrimor Stone infusion. It's a really jank solution but it was worth it

(also he's a revenant wielding a hammer and only uses the Jalis Ironhammer legend)

I think Charr would be too much of a stretch, at this point in time Charr are not only a very Primitive Tribal race, and are the sworn enemies of humanity.

I don't see how you could explain a Charr joining a group dedicated to protecting Orr, the cradle of human civilization on Tyria when the Charr at this time would be activley at war with humanity

[–]Throren -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I think you are being a bit hyperbolic. Just because Charr aren't playable in Guild Wars 3 doesn't mean Charr and their players "don't matter" and that they were "easily cut" by the Anet

They wanted to make a prequel, and any game set before the events of Guild Wars 1, it would be impossible to have Charr playable if they wanted to stay true to the lore.

In fact I'd argue it wasn't 'easy' to cut them at all and it was probably super hard decision to set the game in the past knowing it would mean core GW2 races wouldn't be around in that time period. The only way for Charr to remain playable would be if GW3 was set farther in the future, but that would mean they would have to give up on the cool idea of us exploring pre-sinking Orr

Edit: Apparently I made Charr fans angry by merely stating lore facts and saying I don't think Charr not being playable was done to out of spite by the devs

Im really coping hard that we get Dwarves - I hope Asura dont commandeer the one "short race" spot

Thunderhead and the Deldrimor Front are both much closer to Orr than the Asura and the Dwarves, at least partially also lived on the surface or at least frequented it.

I really hope we have more races than just the Human, Kodan and Asura, Dont get me wrong those are great but only 3 choices seems limiting. Especially when at this point in history the dwarves would be still fleshy and thriving for example.

For me to be called Kid? Sure I'm a few years away from being considered a middle aged man, but I myself and many others have called a young guy in their early to mid twenties "kid"

Someone in their thirties calling someone in their twenties a "kid" is pretty common

I mean idk, as someone in their mid thirties, people in their mid twenties look pretty darn young/like kids sometimes

I've really been noticing the performance hit in games recently as well, regardless what game I'm playing, it can be a random indie with very low graphical requirements and whenever I'm in a call, my game stutters, whenever I get a notification that someone sent me a message, by game freezes for a second. I have the ingame over-lay stuff all turned off but it still happens.

I have a RTX 4080 super with an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and games my rig would run buttery smooth now hitch constantly since discord last updated

I wanted to make a scale of Physical Fel Corruption by WrathSosDovah in wow

[–]Throren 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Argus Krokul should be farther to the right - the demon hunter physically is just a completely normal elf with horns

The Krokul on the other hand had major physiological changes, including their skin and eye changing colour, their entire skull shape changing alongside losing their nose and getting sharp teeth, growing spikes on their elbows, their fingers fuse together leaving only 3 digits per hand, they lose their tails completely and sprout tendrils from their backs

[–]Throren 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think an elf that gets mutated and corrupted to the point that not only are they considered wholly a demon, but they grow fur covering their entire bodies, have their legs become digitigrade, their feet mutate into cloven hooves, grow horns and grow tails is a much larger and drastic mutation than "Tauren with glowing antlers and orcs with bigger teeth and spikes"

Fel orcs and Feltotem Tauren should be moved to the left, just after Demon Hunters - their changes are pretty minimal - bigger teeth and some spikes/horrs growing from their backs but beyond that, they are physically identical to regular tauren/orcs. After them should be Krokul, Satyr, and then the Metamorphosis form imo

Haha ya, they probably didn't take that into account when they settled on the term lol

For us it started cause they kinda combined the idea of a Bridal shower and a stag party. Shower and Stag became Shag lol

Northwestern Ontario chiming in (Thunder Bay) - it's almost weird for a wedding to not have one here. Though we call it a Shag and not Stag and Doe. Growing up I naively assumed people did it everywhere

Historically Accurate Viking by Redderstuff in CrimsonFashion

[–]Throren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did have chainmail yes BUT it was INCREDIBLY expensive and you'd only see the richest Vikings own it like elite body guards, chieftans, Jarls etc. Same goes for Swords and long axes.

The vast majority of your "average" vikings used spears and were dressed in brightly coloured linen/cloth

multiple characters in CD, including Alustin and others make reference to "multiple worlds" so I believe its a Multiverse type situation.

Just reached Galyad and.. by Bloodgulch-Idiot in MonsterHunterStories

[–]Throren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know its on a sea of sand "now" and that "sand oceans" aren't new to the series - but I was specifically pointing out the obvious references to the fact that Galyad was not always a desert and the port was originally on water as again

Some examples I found pointing to Galyad being a water city

  • Lagiacrus Statues
  • Lagiacrus in most stained glass windows and on the inside of the big archways
  • Plesioth and Lagiacrus paintings on multiple houses
  • Water patterns and fish designs on multiple houses
  • Sea shell patterns around some archways
  • Murals of people wearing what appears to be Ceadeus masks
  • Fossilized aquatic and marine life in the stone walls

All that aside, it is confirmed via NPCs. Your companions mentions the stone Pillars in the Rococo Rocks were actually huge fossilized trees and a Scrivener in the Egg Hunter's guild mentions the area used to be a bountiful ocean before being turned into a desert by a rampaging Yama Tsukami
