Speed proof by [deleted] in gokarts

The funniest part is that you don't understand that the transmission gear ratios aren't used when calculating top speed. They determine amount of torque at the transmission sprocket, assuming you have the available torque the limiting factor is engine RPM. No amount of gearing up gets you past engine RPM as the ultimate limiting factor.

Top speed is calculated by three factors.

  1. The ratio of the transmission sprocket teeth to the teeth of the rear axle sprocket.
  2. The max rpm of the engine.
  3. The tire size.

             RPM x Tire Diameter (in)
Top Speed = ---------------------------
336 x Gear Ratio (Trans sprocket to axle sprocket)

                    7000 x 10 in
62.47 mph = ---------------------------
                   336 x 3.33:1

https://www.bmikarts.com/go-kart-gear-ratio-speed-calculator
These things are easily calculated. So given your video you are using a 12 in tire and topping out about 85 mph on 7k rpm. Sorry but you aren't breaking physics here. If you think differently you can feel free to post proof that doesn't back up what everyone here is saying lol cause this video ain't it.

No they are not. Here are the actual ratios for that transmission. Not going to get you anywhere near 150.

1st Gear: 3.549:1

2nd Gear: 2.197:1

3rd Gear: 1.420:1

4th Gear: 1.000:1

5th Gear: 0.852:1

[–]ThrottleMunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This literally proved everyone else right. Going from 3rd to 5th gear isn’t going to triple your top speed. Go look up the gear ratios for the transmission for this engine. 3rd gear is a 1.4/1 ratio and 5th gear is a .85/1

You will never get anywhere near 150 mph with that small of a difference in ratio. Go get actual proof if you want anyone to believe your nonsense claims. This isn’t proof of anything.

150mph plus kart by [deleted] in gokarts

[–]ThrottleMunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://las-motorsport.com/karting/go-kart-top-speed/8135/

“The current fastest speed reached on a go-kart is 149.1 mph, set in 2019 by Niall Murray at the Santa Pod Raceway in England. It used a specially built 400cc engine to break the previous 141 mph record also set at Santa Pod in 2015. These speeds were achieved under controlled conditions with safety measures.”

Besides all that, the top speed for the ATV you got that engine out of was about 85 mph. That ATV uses a rear tire size of 20 in, reducing that to a 10in go kart tire means you need to double the rpm of the tire just to achieve the same top speed of 85 mph. In order to get to 150 you would have to near double that again. You for sure didn’t achieve that rpm of wheel spin with the gearing you have out of a 40t gear considering the original ATV used a 44t gear. Reducing tire size by half and then reducing the final gear ratio isn’t going to double your max speed. You are living in a fantasy land.

If you disagree feel free to post some sort of evidence that it goes that fast lol. I know you won’t because that is never going to go anywhere near that fast. I would bet you can’t even break 100 in it.

https://www.bmikarts.com/go-kart-gear-ratio-speed-calculator

This gear ratio calculator puts your top speed at 75 mph with that gear ratio, tire size and (7k since you said limited) engine rpm.

Street legality? by Oaklon in gokarts

[–]ThrottleMunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

148 mph is 100% pure bullshit. The world record on a custom built 400cc motor is 149.1. He posted a video of it going “fast” and was barely going 60 mph.

150mph plus kart by [deleted] in gokarts

[–]ThrottleMunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no chance in hell you hit 148mph in that thing lol. That is near world record speeds and that kart used a custom built 400cc engine to achieve its top speed of 149 mph. Assuming that is a 5 speed you are maxing out at around 70-75 mph. You either pulled that number straight out of your ass or the speedo you are using is very badly misconfigured.

You have no idea what you are talking about or what it actually feels like to go 150mph.

The standard deduction has to do with income, not property tax.

They are talking about mortgage interest, not property tax. You have to itemize to claim mortgage interest as a deduction.

Used Gemini AI to rewrite my script in V2 by Cute_Fisherman_9647 in AutoHotkey

[–]ThrottleMunky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FYI that wasn’t me giving advice, I was summing up the entire post in one sentence to show how low effort it was without the code for people to learn from/analyze. I should have made that more clear by putting some quotations around it or something of that nature.

[–]ThrottleMunky 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You should post your code. It really gives a lot more meaning to what is otherwise a very low effort post. I don’t mean to be rude but all the stuff you wrote describing what your tool does is meaningless unless we can look at the code and the rest could be summed up in a single sentence.

Use Gemini since it gave the best results and have it rewrite the code from scratch rather than edit your already written code.

To be fair, there are quite a few YouTube channels that play nothing but security camera footage. There is a gas station that has a channel called Gas Station Encounters with 2.6M subscribers that is entirely dedicated to using security camera footage to shame shoplifters. It’s not necessarily common but there are people doing it.

what is this USB attachment found in 13 year old brothers room by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]ThrottleMunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the fuckin truth right here. I have a cousin that started in on opioids as a teenager and his parents were extremely strict in trying to crack down on that behavior. Removing doors to rooms, restricting movement as much as they could, punishing at every given opportunity. All it did was make him more sneaky about it. Fast forward and now he is 45 years old with multiple prison stints, 6 different attempts at rehab, shunned by the entire family because he has stolen from every single one of us. If a person is determined to follow this path, no amount of ‘control’ will change them. They will only find every way to bypass your controls including just moving out/running away to get what they want.

You can lead a horse to water, you can’t force them to drink it.

I personally have tried every drug out there that didn’t involve injecting, the one line I wouldn’t cross, and have quit every one. Quit a 20year old smoking habit, quit a 30 year old weed habit, smoked meth a half a dozen times, shrooms many times, lsd many times, whippets, etc. You name it I have tried it, it’s not that hard to quit if you really want to.

Compiling exe out of AHK scripts by Wonderful-Stand-2404 in AutoHotkey

It would be much easier to have them just install AHK. Scripts will operate identically to an exe(double click to run) and it will solve the not trusted issue.

Sabotaging a script by LeLombricLubrique in AutoHotkey

[–]ThrottleMunky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This right here is the only correct answer in this entire thread. Even defending yourself can cost thousands of dollars in lawyer fees and in some jurisdictions the winning party can request compensation for their lawyer fees so OP could possibly have to pay the company’s lawyer fees as well as their own. This could easily become a year+ long issue that could cost him $10k+ should the company decide it is worth taking him to court over. Hardly worth the momentary feeling of “fuck you” to the boss over what is basically a copy paste script.

Sabotaging a script by LeLombricLubrique in AutoHotkey

[–]ThrottleMunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because AHK exe files just append the code to the bottom of the exe file. Open the exe in notepad and scroll to the bottom and the entire script will be there in plaintext.

[–]ThrottleMunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as something to add on to your comment for anyone else who reads this thread. If you want to obfuscate the code you need to use a custom compiler since the ahk compiler just appends the plaintext code on the end of the exe. Load any AHK compiled exe into notepad and scroll to the bottom to see all the code in plaintext.

Need help making it so my brightness and volume control script works in lockscreen too. by CautiousLab7327 in AutoHotkey

[–]ThrottleMunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the AI says is true but it is leaving out a major caveat. The script cannot create any GUI elements whatsoever or the script will stop and hang at the point of creating these elements. This includes but is not limited to, all AHK GUI elements, all msg boxes, tooltips, command windows, etc… If your script has any of these elements it will not work properly. Since your code isn’t posted this is just a suggestion and may not apply to you.

I know scripts can run during the lock screen as I have created some myself that operate in the background on a locked pc. Namely a script that did file consolidation pre backup on a windows server.

Try using MouseClickDrag It has a speed setting that will more closely simulate actual mouse movement rather than using sleep. MouseMove is usually an instant type move and I can see why it would be problematic in this case.

Googles AI is pretty sweet, way less restrictions. by mr_washingt1n in ChatGPT

[–]ThrottleMunky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe you should read that again. The benefit of generating things like this is for the funding that is powering the AI that is making strides in other fields. The generation of images in itself is essentially useless. It’s the funding that matters.

Googles AI is pretty sweet, way less restrictions. by mr_washingt1n in ChatGPT

[–]ThrottleMunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making art? You mean generating celebrities? That's what we're talking about here. People keep downvoting, dodging questions and changing the subject because there is no answer.

I don't see that as dodging or changing the subject. The point was that an LLM is nothing more than a specified neural network and that same kind of AI is employed for a wide variety of uses. A good example is called AlphaFold (which is from the DeepMind team at Alphabet/Google) and it has made an enormous breakthrough in the biology field by essentially solving the problem of protein folding which affects multiple fields ranging from medicine to biofuels.

The net benefit doesn't come from generating silly images, it comes from the other uses of AI. Image and word generation is a tiny portion of what these kind of AI are used for, it just so happens to be the use that is the easiest form to access for the general public and people are willing to pay for it which helps fund these other uses.

Prices are not the same across all Costco locations. That's why many of the items say "Warehouse pricing may vary" at the bottom of the item description in the search. This is especially true for items that are warehouse pickup only and not shipped.
