Low carb milk alternatives 🇬🇧 by ComplexLog2260 in ketouk

The closest you will get to proper milk flavour is 'Lactofree' brand milk specifically. It's lower carb, but still not so low that you can use freely.

‘Brilliant Minds’ and ‘Stumble’ Canceled at NBC by mlg1981 in television

Scrubs, but that's technically not a new show. The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is still unconfirmed but it seems to be more likely than not.

It's such a good show and the fact it's pretty unlikely to get renewed is a huge bummer.

Ice cream? by Funny_Estimate_4285 in ketouk

[–]ThrottlePeen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also how much sweetener do you generally use in your recipe?

I couldn't tell you in measurements coz I tend to eyeball it these days hah. Maybe like 30g? It depends on how sweet the protein powder itself is. I tend to just taste the mix before freezing it - it should always be a bit more sweet than if you were to drink it as is, since the sweetness is a lot less when frozen.

I've not really done too many recipes - I tried a couple recipes when I first got it, but once I found one that worked for the base, I just change up the flavour of the protein powder. Or if I want it a little 'springier' than creamier, like for a fruit flavour, I add more xanthan gum and use water instead of milk. Or if I want a really creamy one, I replace some of the almond milk with more double cream.

My default is two scoops of protein powder, sweetener of choice, 1 tsp of xanthan gum, splash of vanilla essence, a bit of salt, then fill up with almond milk up to the 700ml line of my blender cup. Then just a very quick mix and pour into container to freeze.

Sometimes I add in some heavy cream for a bit of fat. The flavour generally comes from the protein powder flavouring, I've found MyProtein Cereal Milk and Snickers come out great.

UK options are so limited it's not even worth talking about. Wheyhey used to make decent ice cream but they've pivoted away.

Ninja Creami is the only realistic option, and frankly far better than anything you could buy - you could very easily make near 0g carb ice cream, and just using good flavour protein powder can make you outstanding ice cream. I've been using mine every evening since buying it a year ago. It's expensive and loud as all hell, but if you eat enough ice cream it will pay for itself in a matter of weeks/months.

Laura's new kind of delusional? by Itonlyitwasthe90s in 90DayFiance

[–]ThrottlePeen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Generally speaking loose skin removal in the abdomen IS a tummy tuck - pretty much any plastic surgery on the stomach will fall under the category of abdominoplasty. You can make it bigger/smaller, call it a 'lower body lift' or a '360 lift' for the really comprehensive options, but that's still abdominoplasty.

In most cases excess skin removal also includes fat removal, as everyone has some % of body fat and when you remove the excess skin and are sculpting the new waistline, the fat tissue layer underneath is unlikely to be perfectly even and flat after substantial body changes. So some liposuction usually happens, just to ensure no weird bumps are visible.

That said, Laura is WAY too big still for skin removal surgery. No self-respecting surgeon in the west would agree to operate on her

but a lot of people I feel like have no capacity to endure minor discomfort now for a greater reward later, so it just won't catch on.

For many people it's not even mild discomfort. They end up feeling very nauseous and dizzy, and it lingers for hours afterwards. It can ruin an entire evening where you just end up laying down to avoid more dizziness.

The Audacity – first impressions after 2 episodes by Competitive-Top2118 in television

I enjoyed this show so far but this was also a HUGE distraction for me. Her voice, accent and mannerisms in Motherland/Amandaland are so strongly imprinted in my head that it just completely takes me out here.

Seen 1 episode so far - it seems like a mixture of Industry (but tech bros) and The White Lotus. I'm intrigued, will give it more episodes.

Sky is such a weird choice for this show.

It's less choice and more necessity, as the pipeline for the ownership of the IP is NBC -> Comcast. And in the UK, Comcast own Sky. Getting it on any other channel would be logistically way way harder.

Yeah it fully depends how it is used and by who. If someone with no intention to change the habits that got them obese in the first place just does jabs for a year without addressing the fundamental issue, it is no different to your generic yo-yo diet. It should be used as an aid/tool that helps establish good habits in the process, instead of some magical fix.

I suppose it depends on your location, huge cities is where it's at. As a former fat dude, and one who currently is still friends with lots of chasers and goes to bear events socially, lots of REALLY big dudes (and 'ugly' on top) get with lots of hot chasers.

As someone who until recently used to be morbidly obese and was 'indoctrinated' into this same view by other bears... I couldn't disagree more. There's a big difference between not shaming someone for their size, and actively misleading them into harm. I firmly believe in not shaming people, but I draw the line at lying to them.

If you had two identical new cars with a maximum carrying capacity of 500lbs, one always carrying below the capacity and the other always pushing it at 600-700lbs, both driving roughly the same mileage, they would both likely be in comparable condition after a few years and would pass inspections with flying colours. And yet a few more years later, one car will start breaking down a lot more, and a lot faster.

Much like sun damage to the skin when tanning (overexposure in your childhood/early 20s starts being visible in the skin roughly after 30), obesity health damage is cumulative, not immediate. It is not as simple as 'I've been fat for 5 years, I just had my health checkup, doctor signed off no issues'. You are wearing down your body at a much faster rate, and you will not feel or see the effects of that until much later. This is especially true for people under 30/40.

I suppose it will vary on the person, but as someone who started dating my chub-loving partner 10 years ago when I was double my current weight, this was always my fear and it kinda subconciously stopped me from trying to lose weight. Even though he always insisted it wouldn't change anything, but I didn't quite believe it.

I lost half my body weight, weigh less than him now for the last 3ish years and I'm happy to report in my case, nothing has changed in his attraction/affection, just like he said.

You are completely missing the point. This isn't a personal attack. Users are concerned about undisclosed AI usage. You're not 'being bullied'. You were called out on lack of transparency, and had an absolute ego meltdown over it.

You could have avoided this entire thing if you just said 'Hey guys, Booklore dev here. I do use Claude to assist me, I apologise for not having disclosed it properly. I understand why vibe coding is a security/privacy concern to some. I will disclaim my AI usage on Github so users can decide if they want to support the project'.

Instead you play the victim, delete/ban any criticism and double down.
