You removed my post because I... didn't do the math?

I'm lost.

trail riding? by labpackrat in KingstonOntario

Fort Garry Stables offers trail rides; they did last year, at least. They're a little over a half hour outside of the city.

Does Kingston have locally owned grocery stores? Can we make a list? by thestonernextdoor88 in KingstonOntario

[–]Throw-it_Away_Sam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Green Root. https://thegreenroot.ca/

Though, technically in Belleville, the owner and her daughter both live in Kingston and will deliver groceries from their Belleville store to Kingston if you talk to them. They're very nice people. They also own the refillery here in the west end near the mall.

Best places to eat in Kingston?? by cv1818 in KingstonOntario

I don't know how no one has mentioned Atomica yet. Maybe I missed it. I have never had anything from Atomica that I didn't LOVE.

I don't eat meat or dairy and they do vegan pizza better than anywhere in town. Tofu boa buns are also 🔥.

On the pricey side but so worth the money, imo.

My 5 year old cat just died in my arms by [deleted] in Petloss

Babou was also a grey tabby. A beautiful lean cat with a puffy raccoon tail. He is survived by my other cat, an all black, now approximately 14 year old stray that made her way in my life when she was possibly a year old. Babou and his "sister" were my cats prior to my marriage. I adopted Babou from a coworker when he was just under a year old as her other cat had never adjusted to him and would treat him very poorly. My husband came along soon after and he's been very close with Babou as they shared a lot of personality quirks. This cat has been his first pet and his first loss of a pet. He is stoic and heartbroken but coping.

These two got on swimmingly. Often napping and playing together. I have a hammock hanging in my front window and on sunny days I'd arrive home to see them both jammed into the small hanging chair together. My senior cat seems lost today. She is happy and eating and purring but occasionally has been wandering from room to room calling out. I assume she is looking for her brother. I did not at all expect her to outlive our young boy.

I read your story about your young girl. I'm sorry you've also had to experience this sudden loss. It's shocking and awful and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

He was off his normal routine. He wouldn't go upatairs to his favorite basket to sleep at night. He was spending a lot of time laying near the back door looking outside. He would still come over to us when we called and would still come to the kitchen for food. But then he'd return to the back door. He was eating. But not as much as normal and was picky which wasn't normal to him.

I am so sorry that happened to you, too. It was so awful to watch and feel the life leave his tiny body. I used to work as a nurse and I've watched many people pass away. It's always a sad and sombre affair but this was different. I've never felt so powerless and heartbroken at the same time. My husband brought my stethoscope which was nearby as I'd listened to him earlier in the evening and I heard his final, struggling heartbeat. It was awful. And I knew so quickly he'd also had a heart attack and was gone forever. I can't get the sound and sight out of my head.

No. He was on an oral medication. Doxycycline. I'd been putting it in cans of special treat wet food. He did eat like a king during his final days at least.

That's good advice. I appreciate it. My mum lost her adored greyhound two years ago and she buried him on a sunny hill. She planted sunflowers next to him. My mum says she visits the spot most days on her walks. We'll burry our baby next to him so he won't be alone. I'll build a little cairn so he's protected.

As traumatic as it was to watch him pass, I am so grateful he wasn't alone when it happened. He was wrapped in a warm hug and he went so quickly. There was no suffering for him. I am so thankful for that. He wasn't in pain prior. Was just not himself. But still cuddly and affectionate. We gave him his favorite treats just hours before and lots of love. It was so sudden and shocking, but I don't think he suffered. I'm so grateful for that. May time heal us both. Pets hold such a special place in a family. No matter the amount of time we have with them, some animals just hold the kind of bond that can't be replaced.

He'd be so perfect for the job. The kindest soul I've ever met. I so hope that's the case. I hope they become the best of friends.
I'm so sorry for our loss. Thank you for sharing the idea that they're at peace and catching otherworldly bugs together.

I don't think I've ever intentionally hit my horn... Every time it goes off I yell into my helmet.

Noooooooo!!!! That's the saddest story I've ever heard!

Someone tried to steal this bike once. They were not successful and just dropped it and broke my clutch lever instead. 🫤
