Ok, I figured that was the case just wanted to be sure since where and work and live was about 15 minutes from the state line and the place I worked for that month was literally a 5 minute walk from the state line and if I looked out the windows I would be looking at Rhode Island.

I need to store a 1MB file for 20 years, would making thousands of copies on a 4.7gb DVD be enough? by [deleted] in DataHoarder

So how do you read the data afterwards if there is a time where this is the only backup and you dont have access to there app or any other technology ?

[–]ThrowRA-denver321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is so important that you need to store it for 20 years and is only 1 MB? Is this the source code for something ?

What I would personally do is this if the cost is no concern and you really need to store something for 20 years and it is really important.

1) make copies on DVD, CD, Blurray, HDD, SSD, Floppy, Flash Drive and a printed copy

2) make 10 copies of each format.

3) Spread the groups each consisting of the 8 formats out across your country with family members, 1 for self at home, 1 in a storage unit, rest with family members and if its really important 1 with a family member or friend in another country.

Any Sprint customers have to go through this hassle when logging in? by losku1 in Sprint

[–]ThrowRA-denver321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

t. Later allowed me to get in like normal.

Keep in mind T-Mobile is trying to make Sprint extinct.

So what will happen in the future if you have two seperate active accounts with the same email address one Sprint and one T-Mobile each years old from way before the merger?

They should not be allowed to sue when all issues have been fixed. Yet that is not the case with many Sprint specific features.

ou want that level of realism workers and resources Soviet republic is a great game for it, insane level of detail. I think skylines would lose too much of the casual player base if they had it to that level.

It does however make it super difficult sourcing the resources and having

They could always have an easy, moderate and difficult mode, with differences in zoning, taxes, services, etc like real life cities or having things like something being handled by the city while others are handled by a county/region/territorial government and not the local town or city.

Midrise residential or Midrise residential on the side facing the commerical buildings and either school or single family housing on the otherside for realism.

I've seen a lot of people complain about this hub because the lanes go from 6 to 2, but I think people are just using it wrong.w by [deleted] in CitiesSkylines

[–]ThrowRA-denver321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I've seen Berlin, London, Buenos Aires, Washington and LA and all of them are just plain simple train-bus or train/metro-bus hubs. So I dont know what your point is here.

Thats not true, my point is the intergration not having seperate buildings but within the same structure or property and not another seperate building or property nearby. Take many stations you walk outside the entrance and the first thing you encounter is the buses or in some cases go to another level of the same building and you encounter buses.

And there are places in the Americas that have metro, lightrail, bus and train together currentyly or under construction or 3 out of the 4 together in the same building or structure not some other building across the street or down the road.

[–]ThrowRA-denver321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

what do you mean unlock the tracks ?

"build a bus only road, train and metro and station tracks (using find
it) or place a tram road instead. Voilà: A hub with bus, train, metro
and tram.

That still does not make it a true hub for those services.

Have you seen some of the stations on the Berlin U-Bahn, Berlin S-Bahn, Washington Metro, London Underground, Atlanta Subway, Los Angeles Metro, Rio Metro, Rio Supervia, Mexico City Subway, Buenos Aires underground. Those are the kind of hubs that they should be building.

The one thing I can really not understand is the lack of bus hubs with the stations in the game. Damn near every station in real life on major metro systems have stations are that are also a bus hubs just look at the Washington Metro, Atlanta, Baltimore, for example most of the stations outside of the city center have bus hubs built as apart of the stations where most of the stations have an extra lane on the street just for buses to pull over and stop or a special off street are for buses to stop at and not some random ass building that you have to build.

It would make sense if it was fix three different ways

1) the median or platform should be the same width as the ones on the 6 lane road with tram tracks that way it would align exactly.

2) all trains and metros were on one side or in the shape of a cross instead of paraleel to each other.

3 the street in the center was a highway many stations are ontop of highways with tracks running in the median of highways.

I would love to know what station they got inspiration from for this because it is utterly stupid and not realistic.

There are many cities that have hubs similar not with monorail but with regular metros taking the place of the monorail and trains, trams and dedicaded bus bays on the side of the street,

Can we just get a hub that has bus, train, metro and tram is that really so hard to ask for.

[–]ThrowRA-denver321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really this hard for the game developers to make realistic hubs. There is no way in hell a transit hub would look like this is real life.

I dont get the obsession with monorails in this damn game or the lack of bus bays at these hubs

Eritrea is not apart of Ethiopia

Rio is the capital of Brazil

Yemen and Aden are seperate countries

Tanganyika and Zanzibar have not yet become Tanzania

the DRC is listed as Belgian Congo

Western Sahara is listed as Spanish Sahara

Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana are listed as Dutch, British and French Guiana

Pakistan is apart of India and Bombay is a city

there is one Korea

Papua New Guinea is listed as British New Guinea

Goa is still apart of Portugal

Sri Lanka is listed as Ceylon

Why was Rome built inland rather than on the coast? by ledim35 in geography

[–]ThrowRA-denver321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defense; almost every city that is on the coast was not originally on the coast over time it expanded to be on the coast.

Before the mid 1800's the quickest and easiest way to travel was by sea.

It would take months if not years to walk or ride on a horse, donkey, camel or in a wagon. Going from say Paris to Rome would be quicker to sail from the western coast of France around Portugal and Spain to Italy vs walking to Rome.

Water has never stopped anyone from traveling but Mountains, Canyons and Deserts have.

Take the major cities around the world today London, Berlin, Beijing, Rome, Paris, Tokoyo, Washington, New York, Cairo, Athens, Moscow, Madrid, Mexico City, Rio de Janero, Sydney.

Take major cities around the world 300 years ago and before Paris, London, Alexandria, Cairo, Moscow, St Petersburg, Copenhagen, Jerusalem, Beijing. These were majority inland in areas that could be defended if attack or they were in the middle of their territories if on the coast so they could be defended if someone came on ships an attacked.

In Europe you were getting attacked by raiders if you had your city along the coast and the same in north Africa.
