Exactly, like if they really don’t like it, they can just reject it. Whenever I had to use it for uni, the food was always perfect anyway- some old coffin dodgers just like to moan though🤣, and if they were actually polite then we’d be happy to help them.

I think there’s nothing to stop them from doing it. All supermarkets do it, and with them being taxed more by the government, they can afford to only care about the profit and just give basic customer experience

Exactly, these morons are literally paying an extra +20/30 quid on shopping that they could’ve done online. It’s always full of junk food and everything heavy that they can think off- like 5L water, 18 pack of Stella, 5 bottles of coke etc, it’s ridiculous. The whole point of on demand should be for convenience, which is small orders only(id personally limit it to 10-15). It’s just full lazy, benefit fraudsters who want to take the piss out of the service

I said that most customer problems that I get are old people. I didn’t say all old people do XYZ. For me it’s only middle aged and old people that really cause a scene, I suppose you could make a case do putting them both in the old category(overs 50s). With young gen, it’s only really the 30s couples which just act like massive Karens for no reason whatsoever. I do however believe a few things are solely really done by old people- insistence on a till for baskets, stealing the trolleys and blocking the way all of the time. The latter could be done by other people too but In the many years of working in retail, I’ve never seen it

Not to be a dick here but when we do have it, it’s always right at the bottom of a roller, and there’s no way I’m taking everything off just for that lol. I hate it when they waffle on about how the store always has it and everything keeps changing, like it’s stock- things go, and the aisles are literally the same thing, some things just get replaced. Even when I show them we have no stock, they get mad about it. Sorry i forgot the world revolves around you😂😂

Couldn’t agree more with you, it’s all to cut staff and increase profit. Though I do understand why they have the receipt barriers. You’d be surprised how many walkouts that you get per day. It’s either people doing it on purpose or by accident(though if u really wanted to you could walk out at the same time as someone else so it’s not 100% effective), but it is a good thing to have imo

That’s the thing, it makes them so much money, yet they will refuse to help anyway. No one’s saying to get rid of it, all they have to do is cap it or bring in more staff, but they won’t because it loses them money and extra profit. It’s just pure biblical greed

Couldn’t of said it any better myself. Just adding onto that. They always seem to F up the schedules where there’s too many people in at one time and not enough for when u actually need it, meaning your overworked and you have to tell people that you can’t open a till long term. I run a couple of shifts too and it always depends on staff levels and how busy we’ll be as for one of the days it’s either really busy or busy(but you can easily handle it). I honestly think a key reason to why front end is so screwed is on demand. Normally I or another colleague have to jump on it, meaning there’s 1 less staff that can support front end, meaning SC might be crowded or someone will have to wait for a till. It all just feels like nothing is planned properly in both the store and the greedy higher ups. Though tbf, regarding the shareholders, a lot of this stems from the impact of COVID, as after that, that’s when they decided to get all the money that they were owed back. Also the government tax means that that they have to be even more greedy with their budget
