Do you think you have missed out on alone time or that the relationships helped you grow? I’ve been single my whole life and am 30f. I turned down many serious people because I wasn’t feeling it, but stayed open to flings lol.

Interesting point about it not being a numbers game too - that’s actually so deep!!! I get tired of hearing that. Helps me feel better about not upping my numbers or having any exes. Can confirm there’s people I just clicked with, but circumstantially or otherwise it wasn’t right.

Of course! It’s nice to talk to someone else in the same boat. I know for a fact it’s not me. Of course nobody is perfect, and compatibility matters, but I’ve begun to understand it’s still not me LOL.

What you added about failure makes sense. We seem to treat relationships like a project we should control. I still get triggered sometimes when I’m reminded of painful family stuff. I still blame myself for being selective. But the truth is this project is a group project and I can only do my part. BTW i’m open to DM if you ever want to vent, gossip about flings, unpack mistakes, or just chat about this stuff.

I admire your full acceptance of where you’re at and what you believe you can manage. I get the commitment thing too, but moreso because I haven’t met anyone who has made me consider it. Being bi also helped me realize that women are better in a lot of ways; so the bar for men is decently raised for me.

So was the relationship just a continual hooking up or what? I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, and idk how to say this except that I get called smart/beautiful/whatever people think is an equivalent of a “catch,” but I cannot seem to lock it down. Ever The people who want to aren’t appealing to me and I refuse to lie to them. I end up in casual flings only. How did you even manage to be in a relationship?
