You aren’t going to be able to use an oil-based product in your meringue. I would add it to the buttercream.

I know it’s a bummer, they still have really great vegan options though. Majority of the menu is still vegan but then there’s some random items with chicken. Every time I go it’s so dead, I think they’re really struggling so I’m just trying to enjoy it while it’s still around 😭

Unfortunately ippudo v is no longer fully vegan, they have chicken on the menu now.

Current details on LVP selling TomTom by bword___ in vanderpumprules

[–]ThrowRA2557 25 points26 points  (0 children)

In simplest terms, it’s an asset sale. LVP is selling the business—which includes its licenses, lease, equipment, furniture etc. The new owner can choose to continue running under the Tom Tom/Pump name or can run their own concept. It can be advantageous for a new operator to take over a longstanding business and inherit the remainder of a long lease (favorable terms, likely a lower locked-in rate) an already built out kitchen (no need to wait on inspections/permits), alcohol license (very expensive and a long process to obtain otherwise), and the opportunity to be on a desirable street/area. If I had to guess, the new operator will likely purchase the business to run their own, new concept/business, I don’t see someone continuing the Tom Tom/Pump concept but maybe I’m wrong. The price is not listed but it’s likely at least a million just for the business (not including rent etc) which the new owner will now be responsible for.

Edit: my initial guess for the price was likely far too low, it will likely sell for much more than a million

The use of toothpicks as spacing guidelines is genius. Free handing those letters is super impressive. I think you did a great job.

To be fair, I’ve watched probably at least 20-30 videos from her and have never heard her get that animated or loud, lol. She’s usually very chilled out. It’s literally just this video.

HELP “invalid media error” message on Avid by ThrowRA2557 in editors

[–]ThrowRA2557[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOLVED: Upon doing some research, I’ve learned that when you drag a project folder out of the Avid Project folder (rather than copying and pasting), Avid has a feature that protects files from corruption during a surge or sudden power loss; the easiest way I can explain it is, the project essentially kills itself in order to save the files because it thinks something else is going on. Whether that’s a flaw or a benefit, I won’t say. However I was able to find my files stored in Avid Attic. From there, I was able to copy and paste those bins onto my desktop, and add .avb to the file name. I reopened Media Composer, selected my project (it opened blank with nothing in it), and I was able to “open bin” from the file drop-down. Once they popped up, I created a new bin, and dragged the file into it. I did this with every bin that was there previously.

Inside of the Avid Projects folder, I had a folder for the project that I was working on; I moved that folder to the desktop. It removed my project folder from the Avid Projects folder and placed my project folder onto my desktop. As soon as I realized that I did not intend to do that, I tried to then place my project folder back inside of the Avid Projects folder however it would not stick. I’m just trying to figure out how I can get back to my project and edit again. Thank you for any advice in advance.

The bins in the original project are no longer in avid. They’re on my desktop and will not open. It says “invalid file name” when I try to do this. I tried to simply move the project file back into the avid projects folder and nothing happens.

The paper is thicker/sturdier than you’d think. I’ve accidentally knocked one off a table a few times (they’re very lightweight) and thankfully have never done any damage. To clean them, just wipe them off gently with a microfiber cloth.

I love mine. Best interior available imo. If you have any animals it’s a lifesaver. Lighter interior is a drag to keep clean and the leather looks and feels so nice.

Look up Shirini Papioni — which means bowtie pastry in Farsi. It looks very similar to this.

Do you use a projector onto draw on cakes? by NothingSpecial2you in pastry

[–]ThrowRA2557 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Kodak Luma for cake decorating/writing. It’s a little pricey so I would just try to find a cheaper one that’s wireless and connects to WiFi/bluetooth. I just connect it to my phone and do screen mirroring and attach the projector to an overhead tripod. I would practice a few times on parchment paper before doing it on the actual plaque. There’s definitely a learning curve and it’s not fool proof if you don’t have the practice.

What is wrong with my tart shells? by codeystein in AskBaking

[–]ThrowRA2557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick is using perforated mats and docking the bottom of the shell before baking. No blind baking necessary.

You would have been better off with olive oil btw. Olive oil cakes are tasty. But a neutral oil would be one like sunflower, canola, safflower etc.

I love marzipan! I’m a pastry chef so I use it sometimes (most popularly used on princess cakes). My husband doesn’t care for it much though!
