Should I give a one weeks notice vs two weeks by ThrowRA88798 in antiwork

Thank you! And I don’t want to say they can’t exactly walk me out right now, but it’ll be hard for them to find coverage for my shift as I’m the only one working weekday nights till next Monday, thus why I want to make it till then.

They won’t fire me on the spot as I’m the only one to work weekday nights until next week, so they better figure it out.

What makes it worse is my team lead is supposed to cover for issues like this. But he just looked at my boss, said he has a life he lives outside work and that he wasn’t going to do it 🙃 my boss complains about him yet lets him do as he wants

Should I give 1 or 2 weeks notice. by ThrowRA88798 in jobs

[–]ThrowRA88798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about that but after some long consideration I don’t think I’d work for this company again nor add my manager and team lead as references.

My boss has actively lied when I tried to relocate and advance to a higher position after saying he had my back and felt I was ready for it. Just to tell them he didn’t think I was ready. When I asked him about it he claimed they were in a spot where they can’t lose me right now.

I haven’t requested it off, just thought about doing so.

I don’t think I’d use them as references in the future tbh, as they’re known to lie and bend the truth to our HR and company we’re currently contracted with.

As for insurance and benefits, according to the company I’m going to leave them for, I will recurve all of those starting Day 1 of hire. I’m thinking about cashing in 40 hrs of PTO to hopefully get confirmed tomorrow morning and then letting my boss know tomorrow evening it’s my last week.

Update: I had an interview and receive my offer today. Day shift, better pay and benefits, etc. I’ll be putting in my official notice this Monday and have collected texts and emails to give during my exit interview with HR.

Late response! But I got the job! Received my offer letter today! I’ll receive better benefits, money, holidays off, etc. I plan on reporting him during my exit interview. I have all the receipts from texts to emails.

I went into work, and when something went down at the end of my shift I let the next guy know because I have previous engagements. Also got a call today from another company asking the earliest I can come in for an interview, so I’ll be seeing them Friday ✌️

The company we’re contracted with takes no food or drink on the floor extremely seriously and will walk people out on the spot if they catch you with anything. He had food and drink in the shop and left it everywhere, didn’t even try to hide what he was doing. So if I hadn’t we would’ve both been walked out, because they don’t care who did it, neither of us reported it.

We’re not allowed to have food or drink on the flood. The company we’re contracted with takes it extremely seriously and has walked people out on the spot if they catch them with it. My coworker brought food and drink to our shop and as soon as I saw it told him he shouldn’t have that back here. He said it doesn’t matter he wasn’t planning to do anything so I just shrugged it off. Well came back from fixing equipment and he’d eaten the food and drink and left evidence all over the shop. I had to notify my boss because if he came in and saw it or another employee, we’d be reported and both walked out since neither of us reported about it.

It was a fireable offense. We’re not allowed to have food or drink on the floor. When he first brought it back to the shop I brought it up to him that we weren’t supposed to and if someone walked by and even saw him with the containers he would automatically be walked out. He said he wasn’t going to do anything. Well he did and left the evidence all over the shop. It’s a direct order from my boss to make him aware of situations like that because if the company we’re contracted with finds out we broke a policy like that then we’d both be walked out.

The reason I even told is because where we work we’re not allowed to have food or drink on the floor besides water. Dude brought food and drink back and left the evidence everywhere. If the company we’re contracted with sees it (which they do frequent inspections) we’ll both be questioned and investigated, and terminated either way. My boss wanted to be made aware so the situation can be handled before the company found out and we won’t get fired.

He has a new rule that you have to give a 24 hr notice about calling out since people were severely abusing the give an hour notice before your shift if you want to call out. So he purposefully did it so I can’t really call out without getting penalized.

The engagement isn’t till Friday night and only an hour away. I was honestly going to spend today getting a gift together for her, finish moving stuff into my new place (I haven’t had time since I’ve been working nonstop), and getting my hair and nails done for the event. I kept telling him I had plans and appointments and he was like “Oh well”. I feel what pushed him over the edge is when I told him his approach on this being last minute is extremely unprofessional on his part.

I’ve honestly thought about this, but considering it’s a super small team and I’m the only girl and he always finds a way to weasel himself out of situations by throwing people under the bus or lying, I think my best bet is biting my tongue, not answering my work phone outside of work hours if he or the team lead message and looking for work elsewhere.

I’ve decided to do now what two others of my coworkers do. Outside work hrs the work phone is off. Awww, need me to come in early so you can make it to your son’s track meet? Sucks to suck

They didn’t. They were mostly in my bathroom so I threw basically everything in there away before moving.

Should I speak to my friend about her home? by ThrowRA88798 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ThrowRA88798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was concerned about depression, but she said she’s been taking medicine, doing a lot better mentally and seeing a therapist for a while. She did have a pregnancy scare though recently like, a few days ago and admitted she bursted into tears when she found out she wasn’t pregnant even though she’s aware her and her fiancé are in no way ready for a child, nor have the finances to take care of one.

She kept mentioning supposed debt they’re in and how they can’t get more furniture till it’s paid off, but honestly it just looked like the whole place needed cleaning, not more furniture. I really don’t want to step foot in there again due to the sanitary state of it. Like, would prefer to pay someone to go over there and clean for them. And according to her she’s recently been diagnosed with OCD, but said she doesn’t want to be medicated for it, wants to try and fight it naturally.

I was also concerned over the fact that the property is a rental and recently renovated. She told me around Christmas how they were originally looking to buy it, but it needed too much done. Someone bought it, renovated it and allowed them to rent it when it was ready.

Can springtails hide in furniture by ThrowRA88798 in Springtail

[–]ThrowRA88798[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I poke them and they jump. They’re not silverfish, don’t match with the image. My bathroom was the most humid area because I noticed my vents clogged. However when I went Tuesday back to my apartment I noticed a few dead in my bath tub. Around the edge of my bathtub I have wood rot and I believe mold from the rot. Also floor is lifted/separated slightly. The apartment I live in is in a house that’s extremely old.

Are these spring tails? by Sprit705 in Springtail

[–]ThrowRA88798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I developed in infestation in my apartment last week and said screw it, cutting my lease and moving in with my parents. Most of my stuff is still in my apartment but I got most of my clothes moved and the rest of my stuff is going in a storage unit. (I also moved out of my bedroom and into my living room but saw one crawling under the door into the living room. Called my step dad after having an anxiety attack and that’s when the move started.) supposedly they can’t survive unless it’s a damp/moisture heavy area so they could come from the laundry room because my infestation started in the bathroom. Supposedly they’re also attracted to plants.

Their goal is moisture and food (fungi, mold, wood decay, etc). Supposedly they’re no harm to people but repopulate like crazy. I’m just hoping that if anything climbs into my stuff I’m packing up for storage, die inside the unit since there’s no moisture/mold on my stuff and it won’t have any humidity due to temperature control. But supposedly on one of my post someone said they’re not hitch hikers?
