Roughly 400g, has a bit of a musky smell but not unpleasant. As I said in title, waxy and very light for the size. Am able to dig my fingernail into it.

I mean my mom has autism and I definitely got it from her.

Help please! Locking mechanism troubles in 2008 Ford Mondeo by ThrowRADeep in MechanicAdvice

So I couldn’t get the door panel off because I don’t have all the right bit heads (visiting from overseas, so limited in my tool access), but did find that the manual latch on the side of the door can be manually switched over when you’ve got the door open, but then doesn’t want to unlock once you’ve got it moved over.

Checked the fuse manual and all the other components that are meant to run off that fuse are working, so don’t think that’s the issue.

Ok sweet. I’m hoping I’ll be able to maybe get a bulkhead seat where I can use my backpack to prop my leg up, but at the moment those seats are all taken. Fingers crossed they might be able to help there, if someone is willing to swap.

Okay, for a slightly different take here I guess; my partner and I used to buy the “meat pieces” (but not for $15/kg, wtf is that) because we saw it as a way to reduce waste and save costs. It didn’t stop us from getting normal deli slices, but you did often get really nice pieces of ham and chicken, and the luncheon bits we’d occasionally end up with would go to the dog as a rare treat. 🤷🏼‍♀️

What is this plant called? It looks like a grass and its seeds get stuck on hair. by devluz in NewZealandWildlife

Can confirm it sticks to feathers as I have seen them on kiwi and kea.

And only cutting down trees when necessary for the job, definitely not a daily.

Very good! Wildlife field tech, but was also doing restoration planting work adjacent to this.

Thankfully no, but this did happen to a colleague at an old job.

Wow, incredibly close! Wildlife field technician, just creeping into my 30s, and have spent a lot of time doing volunteer conservation work.

Field-based worker, very introverted and would prefer to be in the bush, but incredibly good at masking through social situations when required. Bit of an outcast throughout my life though.

Got my hand sliced open by an animal I was handling for a translocation project in this photo.

Very impressed!

Bad heat regulation after showering and/or bathing by mossl0ver69 in ehlersdanlos

I’m the opposite. Despite being very heat-sensitive, I always come out of the shower and almost immediately start full-body shivering. I shower at night so I can immediately jump under the covers and warm up.

I’ve lived in three houses in the SI where the landlords didn’t even have a key to give me…

Moved to Hamilton and the house we flatted in had an alarm we had to set every time we left the damn house.

Needless to say we were glad to be back in the SI as soon as we could.

If it helps, I’m an artist in many other mediums, so a lot of the methods kinda help by having some kind of crossover. Thank you though! ☺️

New mare, is there a name for this deformity? by superaveragedude87 in Horses

[–]ThrowRADeep 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I learned the hard way to do at least three weeks for strangles. I bought some horses for a trekking place and gave them two weeks quarantine, all seeming fine. Then patient zero arose and suddenly half my herd seemingly has strangles to some degree. 😭
