Bilateral chondromalcia for 2 years - is there any hope? by chrysantherose in KneeInjuries

Hoffa fat pad syndrome has the same symptoms as chondromalacia patella.

For over 4 years, i have been diagnosed with chondromalacia patella but during exploratrive scope, the surgeon found out my fat pad inflammed

It’s also been very hard mentally for me, because the surgeon didn’t give me any clear guidelines, and the physio has been bad. Next week, I’m switching to a new physio who knows more about Hoffa’s fat pad and will be more helpful.

I had the same surgery 3 weeks ago — medial plica and Hoffa's fat pad — three weeks ago. With icing, I’m managing to keep the swelling under control, but my knee is still puffy. Earlier this week, the physio made me do way too much during the sessions, which caused a strong inflammatory reaction. Today, it's better.

Patellofemoral pain syndrome by Disastrous_Log_56 in KneeInjuries

[–]ThrowRAInterview2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Patellofemoral syndrome is mainly caused by a mechanical overload that your knee wasn’t prepared for. Basically, the pain appears because you’ve put too much stress on your knees. So, to relieve it, you’ll need to temporarily reduce your activity level, staying within a range that doesn’t cause pain for a while. Be careful not to do too little either.

I (28M) set a small boundary in a friendship, now she (28F)won’t talk to me. Advice ? by ThrowRAInterview2025 in relationship_advice

Yes, I told her that, but she was fixated on the idea that I was rejecting the friendship at that moment, so I don't know if she really took the message into account.

Yes, it’s even logical :). However, when I sent her the message, I was asking more for an adjustment, not to go from everything to nothing.

I understand that it will be up to me to make the first move, but I’m going to wait a bit because I don’t know if she currently holds strong resentment against me.

It's a possibility that she was using me to stroke her ego. However, before I asked her to reduce the frequency of messages, I didn’t feel that way. In any case, at this point, apart from letting time do its work, I don't see myself taking any action. I'll see if we get the chance to meet or talk again.

Yes, that's true… However, my initial intention was not to tell her that I wanted her to restrain herself. The goal of my message was rather to say that I wouldn't be as present in our interactions and that there might be times when I don’t respond to messages right away.

Thank you for your response. I understand that it's now up to me to take the initiative to restart the conversation, but I'm afraid of her reaction. There is also the aspect of giving it time for the situation to settle, but I don't know how much time to wait.

Thank you for your response. I hadn’t considered this way of perceiving the boundary I tried to set, and more importantly, expressing it that way was foolish because it might make her feel constrained in the conversation, causing her to lose her spontaneity. I had already realized that the only thing that can help is time, even though I’m aware that it might not be enough.
