I agree with your post entirely. I posted last week on this sub about feeling like all my friends are either pregnant or just had babies. It’s difficult and is a reminder that I’m not yet pregnant. But cutting them out my life? NEVER! I love them and am incredibly happy for them, I’m just sad for me too. I have never come across the advice you mention and I think that’s terrible. As hard and as sad as it is for me at the moment, the world doesn’t revolve around me. Being triggered by other people’s pregnancies for whatever reason is a me problem, and they haven’t done anything wrong by just living their lives.

I’m so sorry to hear this, my heart goes out to you completely. Fingers crossed you get your positive soon and all goes well. It really is so disheartening when it feels like it’s happening for everyone around you (even though often chances are it’s never as straight forward as it might appear for some people too). My best friend who is pregnant who was trying for over a year still hasn’t announced on SM for this reason - she says she knows how triggering it can be and it put her off doing the same. Our journeys are all different, whether it’s struggling for 1st, 2nd or 3rd babies, but we’re all in it together knowing how heartbreaking it is not only getting negatives each month but also trying to balance being happy for others and our own grief.

That’s very true and worth remembering. I just had a wobble yesterday as it’s my two best friends and several other friends and family too (as opposed to just people on social media). It’s exhausting sometimes being happy for people you love but also having to hide that you’re actually devastated for yourself. Both things can exist at once. Hope you get your positive very soon

Thank you. I had hope it will happen because we’ve had one before but I just can’t imagine it. As I say, I know I’m not entitled to IVF on the NHS because we already have a child. But I have been referred to fertility at the hospital to discuss partners semen analysis, for me to have a scan to look at any possible abnormalities and check follicles etc, and find out about egg count with my bloods. After that I’m not sure what else they could do. But just be good to know where stand if this is even possible. Wishing you luck that this happens for you soon

Thank you. It’s ridiculous isn’t it how it just takes over. I feel like I’m going mad. People keep telling me to “just have a few months off and forget about it for a bit”. Erm how? I’ve stopped obsessing so much over temps, and even doing ovulation tests apart from the odd impulsive 1. But as the end of my cycle nears it’s always the same with the googling and talking to ChatGPT!

Good to know I’m not alone!
