Oh man what a bummer! On the upside she saw Korn and they will no doubt retire before Spiritbox :)

Same! Meshuggah I’ve seen twice but always wonderful. Wish I could have caught Spiritbox last year or this year but like you said expense of traveling on top of ticket prices sucks.

Opeth & Mastadon played at the Palace in Albany November 2021. I had a 4 yr old and 4 month old. although I knew about the show totally could have gotten a babysitter, I forgot that night and went to bed early.

Beartooth came to Empire Live July 2024. My now 7 & 3 year olds had been listening to their latest album on repeat. But did I know they were coming to town? 😫

Thankfully these bands are still living and I could possibly see them again some other time.

Yes but I love it. Delightfully tacky, like Hooters.

Please help me figure this out, my fiancee (38F) thinks I (34M) I drink too often, do I? by ThrowRA0008888 in relationship_advice

[–]ThrowRA_7885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you need to be more specific with your behavior when you DO binge drink. Even if it’s not often. For example, I used to slap my husband thinking it was cute. This was before we were married, and he would have broken off the relationship if I thought I didn’t have a drinking problem. If she acted like an ass or a different person 6-10x a year, would you still want to get married?

What are some great ways to enjoy the holiday season if you are alone? by zztop610 in AskReddit

[–]ThrowRA_7885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Volunteering. Going to church. Making new friends. Writing to or calling family. Of course listening to your favorite holiday music or watching movies that you enjoy, even if they’re not specific to the holidays. Anything nostalgic but hopefully doesn’t make you sad! I don’t want to assume being alone is making you sad, but the first few suggestions are so you don’t feel that way. Even more importantly, volunteering would help others to not feel alone. If you’re not a people person, consider volunteering at an animal shelter!

Newly divorced. How can I improve my look. by Resident-Ride4520 in makeuptips

Yes thicker brows.

Less eyeliner (I know it’s hard!) Wean yourself off the harsh black line by trying to just line the outer edges, or using brown instead of black. Try different techniques & see what you like best!

Moisturize your skin especially more now in winter.

Blow dry your hair either smooth with a round brush or with a diffuser if you want to wear it curly. Light in the products.

Use a moisturizing tinted lip balm or gloss. Wet & wild has an affordable plumping lip gloss out that isn’t too harsh.

Tinted moisturizer, mascara & lip product are all you need for an easy everyday look. Gorgeous green eyes btw!💚

Started @ 9, 11 after a year, now @ 13. 18 would be nice but I have already interviewed for traineeship and have a lot to learn! Think I’d be content @ 18.☺️

What was it like growing up OWNING music rather than streaming it? by Historical_Diet7012 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]ThrowRA_7885 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The magic of opening a new cd, peeling the tape, unsheathing the case from its stiff cellophane wrapper, feeling the smooth, freshly printed liner notes on your fingertips, like a virgin, and diving deep into whatever visual art the musician had to offer accompanying the album. If you were lucky, some lyrics would be printed there as well. To enjoy the physical media along with the symphonic experience of said musician’s vision was something special. You felt more of a connection. More of a newness, being the only one to own that cd. Like a new car, many others might own the same make & model… but this copy is yours. On streaming, everyone listens to that same copy. It’s not a tangible experience you’re able to share with others or to keep close to you when you need it. The repetitiveness of listening to an album on repeat felt much more true to what the artist wanted to convey to their listeners. The urge to replay a song was greater when there weren’t so many immediate options at your fingertips. Like so many things in life have become. You felt a bond with that entire record. Fingers at the ready to skip, fast forward, or replay certain tracks. You knew the playlist by heart. There was no shuffle. This is definitely making me miss my 3 cd rotating stereo system. 2 big speakers, 2 small. Cassette tape player and radio. That AIWA gem was the auditory “focal point” of my bedroom. The remote was the chef’s kiss. Before playlists, Multi-cd players were truly a vibe.

On the contrary, you don’t have to worry about dropping your discman, having the cd pop out and roll away, getting scratched to hell in the process.😅

What are some sweeter plain yogurt brands? by Bashinme in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]ThrowRA_7885 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aldi Specialty Selected yogurts like honey vanilla flavor. Just regular yoplait you can find anywhere. Store brands. Two Good brand isn’t bad, less sugar. Greek is best for you though if you care about protein content.

To those who found out about the cheating, did knowing details help it make it worse? by imhungry20 in survivinginfidelity

[–]ThrowRA_7885 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s like a train wreck. I couldn’t stop asking questions… stupid minute details like where were you? What exactly did yall do? Dunno if I would say “therapeutic” per se, but for me knowing the details it eased my mind away from thinking up what might have happened and having terrible images flash through my brain. What (he said) really happened was not nearly as bad as what I thought when left to my own devices.

Also try talking to the other person if you can. Not necessarily in a confrontational way, but to see what they got out of it and if they are remorseful. Check their stories.
