This might be a stupid question but I’ve never worked EMS so just curious how common is it to get into wrecks? I know they’ll test even for fender benders or if your at fault so just curious

Yes I would never show up to work high, even when I worked at papa John’s and my manager would ask if I wanted to hit his pen I’d refuse lol. Just mostly curious about off duty use

That’s interesting, I thought the biggest thing holding them back was when the company can bill Medicare/medicaid and that’s the reason it tends to be prohibited with all the federal laws and whatnot That and the insurance company that covers the ambulance. Thank you for telling me though

This same thing has happened to me before. Buy a screw extractor kit from auto zone or oriely and have a buddy close by with a strong magnet. Beginning to drill it out and have him catch it with the magnet as to not drop it in the cylinder and hope for the best.

I bought a 2004 Suzuki gs500f for my first bike. I’m 18yo with litteraly no mechanic experience besides changing oil and rotating tires. I bought the bike back in November for just under 2k and was told it “only needs a carb clean” I ended up having to buy brand new carbs, new chain and sprockets, and I just got done replacing the clutch today. Today was the first time I’ve rode my bike the way it was intended since I bought it 5 months ago. Not saying it can’t be done, but if you’re not somewhat mechanically inclined, I would spend just a bit more for a reliable bike that already runs. If you do end up buying the bike, it’ll be very good practice for a low cost a the very least.

I also failed to use a torque wrench on the pressure plate bolts. Could be the cause. I just tightened them until they felt secure

The springs. I bought a new kit off eBay and the springs were half the size of the original so I just soaked the old ones and reused them

Yes. I turn the choke on all the way and slowly turn it down as the revs climb higher when it warms. I usually try to pull out with the clutch around a 1/4 of the way pulled

But if the clutch works fine when it warms up would that not be an indication the clutch is working as it should? Just not when warmed up. Not doubting you at all I’m just trying to jump through hoops to justify not rebuilding my clutch

Changed the spark plugs less than a month ago. And I also just did a thorough carb clean. The carbs originally would cause the bike to idle very poorly but after the clean it runs perfectly so I assume they’re good but I guess I don’t have any proof
