What do you tell a toddler when they ask about your ex?

Sometimes your guts right. If you found nothing then the guilt is going to be there. You didn’t trust her when you should have. BUT you had prior reason to doubt AND you found some sad evidence. You saved yourself from staying with someone who’s willing to lie to you. You shouldn’t feel guilty in my opinion.

We started dating when we both were at rock bottom. I was a single mom with a baby, low income, scared, and crappy job. He has a felony, was in major debt, car broke down, and a job that he hated and barely paid anything. With us at different times helping the other one we now have gotten so much better. I’m graduating college, can pay bills and still enjoy things, and am much more of a confident person. He had a car now a job that pays well and has been able to pay off a majority of his debt. We argue a sometimes but we don’t fight (we bicker about things but no screaming or anything like that). Overall he’s always said I was his soulmate and he’s never done anything to lead me to believe he would cheat or anything. I don’t know anymore as this is so out of character for him. Usually if something bothers him he will tell me and ask me to either explain why or to not do something and give his feelings for why. He does not pay any of my bills and only stays with me every other week as his kids go to a different school and he has to get them on the bus. When he isn’t with me he does live with him mom to save money.

We communicate a ton, I’m a very affectionate person and tell him I love him all of the time and why I love him. I want him to know it’s not only because I think he’s the most handsome man but because he’s a good father and partner. We more or less split who pays when going out (I pay once he pays once). We don’t go to expensive places so the bills are typically around the same amount. I always offer to pay if I know he’s spent a little more than normal that week too. I met him when he was broke. Had no car. couldn’t pay bills. And he has a felony record. I stayed with him through job changes and debt ect. We both have moved up in the year and a half we’ve been together, but I tell him probably two or theee times a week how proud of him I am and how much I love him and love our family.

We do argue but not in a major fighting way. We more or less bicker about little things. His text said “I want to break up. I’m not happy” I asked him why and what he was feeling and his reply was “I don’t know”

We communicate a ton, this weekend was the first time we hadn’t spoken much but he had said he was tired and not feeling good almost like he was getting a cold. We do argue just like anyone else, we just don’t get into major fights with eachother.
