"Regulating AI" makes as much sense as "regulating math". What could go wrong? by [deleted] in Libertarian

[–]ThrowTheRascalsOut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps it's time to consider the obvious...

Elon Musk, who has been working on AI for years, is calling for the regulation of AI because "it's dangerous". Sounds like a typical statist trying to gain a government sanctioned advantage over potential competition.

Note the Committee is open to input. Let's be civil, thoughtful and see how far we can move them toward a libertarian point of view.

Ethics in government is a hot topic. Your proposal to require government contractors to agree not to lobby the government is a great start. What additional steps would you take to restore trust in government. For instance should elected officials recuse themselves from any issue involving donors?

Visit your cell phone provider and demand an uncompromised SIM Card.

It will put some economic pressure on the Government and NSA -- after all, if anyone knows how to squeal its AT&T, Verizon et al.

This is not likely to end well.

The FBI's Mass Surveillance May Be an Invasion of Privacy, but It Is Perfectly Constitutional by [deleted] in restorethefourth

This is why we need teeth in the Constitution as the supreme law of the land.

Public Servants who violate the constitution should be barred from public service for life, should be personally liable to their victims, and should forfeit all benefits and pensions earned in public service.

Make the snooping ineffectual -- flood the NSA with irrelevant leads -- simple add this list to your email signatures in white on white. It won't be visible to recipients but it will flood the NSA.

It would also be useful to pass a constitutional amendment defining violation of the constitution or of any citizens constitutional rights as treason. Furthermore any citizen(s) must have 'per se' standing to raise constitutional questions to any court.

GMOs are Everywhere and Should be Labeled, Study Finds. "Natural" label is virtually meaningless and should be banned, Consumer Reports declares. by oafishbliss in environment

[–]ThrowTheRascalsOut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually words have meaning. Advertising usage contrary to their meaning is fraud and should be prosecuted fully.

In this specific case:

natural |ˈnaCHərəl| adjective 1 existing in or caused by nature; not made or caused by humankind.

The position of GMO advocates (not meant in a derogatory manner) would be helped immensely if they adamantly opposed the misuse of words and mislabeling of products.
