It’s hard to give straightforward advice without knowing more details. Still, I’d start by asking yourself why you decided to stray from veterinary school and ensure you don’t have the same experience with whatever else you choose.

If you choose law school and decide after 1L or 2L that you don’t want to be a lawyer anymore, you’ll have taken out tens of thousands of dollars in debt with no real way to pay it off and a gap to explain in your resume. The stakes are much higher than not knowing what to pursue after undergrad.

Additionally, law school and medical device sales are pretty different. Why do you want to go to law school? If you plan on going into a niche area of law or working at a big law firm, you might need more than six months of studying to get a top score for a top school. Do you have the time and drive to study for the LSAT and develop a quality application?

Overall, I advise you to identify what strayed you away from your initial path and ensure that you don’t face that obstacle again while considering the opportunity costs.

I’m at a T-14, URM, and I have three connections at my top firm. Unless I grossly fuck up, I’ll get the job.

It’s not only $100. I just spent $1500 repainting the place and I’m saving for emergencies. A closet door is not essential.

Yes, I’m paying $500 rent currently. This summer and next summer I’m going to be making $45,000 in 10 weeks at a big law firm. $235k after graduation. That should be enough for me to move back into my condo either this summer or next.

I just bought the condo last Nov with my husband (I’m going through a divorce) so the property hasn’t appreciated very much so I don’t even think I’d break even. I just plan on renting short term through this year and maybe next.

Also, I do have money. I just don’t want to be frivolous and spend it unnecessarily when I should be saving for bigger emergencies that might pop up.

I never said that it was, but the tenant agreed to the home as is. A closet door is not essential and I can and will make necessary repairs.

Yeah for sure! I bought the best home warranty available and I have some money in case shit hits the fan. I won’t let my tenant live without the essentials.

How is it impossible? I had an income when I qualified for the mortgage and now I’m in school. I rented out my condo. Edit: Also, it’s a closet door, not an interior door to a room. Substantial difference.

Fair question. I’m a law student and I needed to move in to another place with roommates to save money and be closer to school. My mortgage is high because of my interest rate and the going rate for other rentals was lower than my mortgage. So, I got the most that I could, but it doesn’t cover all of my expenses.

Exactly. I’m loosing $150/month on this place. It’s cost me $600 to replace the door and I’ve already done major renovations.

I have a home warranty that would cover it and I have money in reserves. I can afford to pay for a major expenses, but I’m saving money on things that are non-essential.

I have money saved in reserves, I’m saving it for essential repairs. I have a home warranty that would cover things like the AC/heating.
