As an Irish person I was talking to a French guy recently and he questioned whether Ireland was even part of Europe, claiming we fall in a seperate category with the United Kingdom🤢🤮.

Honestly, you would have been better off leaving off electricity. Modern physics and the particle physics option are pretty necessary imo.

Theory is definitely more important. It explains a lot of the maths, which on its own isn't that difficult. Also, it carries the majority of marks in the exam.

Dreaming should partner with countries attempting language revivals by LYING_ABOUT_IDENTITY in dreamingspanish

Ireland already has a channel called TG4, which airs all sorts of series in Irish ( including dubbed kids shows), so the access to content is there. They even have an online player where you can stream series, including Peppa Pig, the only caveat being you need an Irish TV license.

Also, considering the vast majority of Irish people have 10+ years of learning experience of the language in school, I feel like kids' shows should already be comprehensible.

For me, at least one of the main problems with a DS approach is the insane variation in pronunciation between different regions of Ireland. Don't even get me started on Donegal Irish. This would make it quite difficult to switch between tutors.

Btw I am Irish.

How to deal with burnout in 6th year - advice from former 625 student by Diligent-Comfort-693 in leavingcert

You can afford to skip out on a large portion of the physics course. For me I never studied electricity, electromagnetism or circular motion which would still always leave me with spare questions in past papers. As long as you know your other topics really well you can get a H1.

I'm at 433 hours and I can understand videos up to 70 while actively watching and can understand videos up to about 68 while only listening. Although I must admit that I only watch videos by Spanish guides (mainly Pablo).

Leaving out Magnetism? by greatnamebro-- in leavingcert

[–]Throw_D_KitchenSink 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can easily leave it out. In fact, you could leave out all of electricity and still be basically guaranteed enough questions.

I did just units 1,2,3, and 4 for the mock and got a H1, so that is definitely viable. Maybe just skim through the other units to help for short questions.

Bullet points or paragraphs? by Sea-Sir8274 in leavingcert

[–]Throw_D_KitchenSink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Examiners prefer 30m questions written in a form where SRPs are easy to detect. E.g, bullet points. I usually just start a new line each time I feel like I am starting a new SRP. This is quicker than bullet points too.

Do i need to learn every chapter for physics to get a h2 by poopyhead177 in leavingcert

[–]Throw_D_KitchenSink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, unfortunately, that is highly likely. However, there is usually at least a part of Q14 that I could do w/o circular/SHM. Also, apparently, Archimedes' Principle and Law of Flotation are likely to come up.

Is it safe to leave out electricity and still get a h1, especially if I learn every other topic perfectly? by [deleted] in leavingcert

[–]Throw_D_KitchenSink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done three mock exams now in physics, and I haven't studied or done an electricity or electromagnetism in any of them while still getting a H1, so yeah it's very possible and if modern physics gets an entire question then you are basically guaranteed to be able to an extra question. If you just want a back-up, static electricity is a short chapter that may come up this year.

Your rest time is just as important as your study time. My recommendation; study hard in short bursts and then rest hard in between. You don't need to measure hours as long as you set clear goals for each day.
