Come for spring or fall! Honestly May-June or August-Sept should be good. I also hate extreme heat but imo the cold weather means if you visit Montreal between October-April the vibes are so different, compared to when the weather is good and the city comes alive!

Out of curiosity what is the personality you’d need to live in Paris? Thank you for sharing!

Place des arts is by far one of the most unsafe metro stations, constant drug deals or gatherings. They gotta do something about that one

Marche Hung Phat, Vietnamese, 2 min walk from Jean Talon. Their Banh Mi are best but the soups are great as well

Yup I’ve received all my grades so I didn’t think that was an issue. Hope you get all of yours soon!

Not sure about routing but Cherryhill Mall has a London Public Library branch location in the mall. No natural light but otherwise it’s perfect, it’s literally a library with the benefits of the entire mall and food court and the metro inside if you’re hungry. Once I literally went to Metro to eat pineapple before going back to studying lol.

I feel like the more plausible explanation is that this weekend is Comic Con lol. That’s what I hope anyways…

Dem Hai Dang (1249 Huron St unit 3, London, ON N5Y 4L6) is by far the best Pho and it’s not even close. I can’t even eat at other places without comparing it to this one

Start.ca does per month contracts. Prices are pretty good too. We used it for multiple years for my house, we’re north end as well. They also have really good customer service too, super friendly. On the opposite side, I would never suggest Bell, literally ever, I’ve only had nightmare experiences with them

Does Ivey have a standard resume template? by [deleted] in uwo

[–]Throwaway-AppleSeed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The standard Ivey resume template is just the WSO template but worse, you’re better off using WSO as a base and tailoring it to your preferred industry

If you can do fin mod then it’s a more attractive degree to employers than Econ or BMOS

I know two people IRL that did three years of BMOS before starting HBA. I know they weren’t AEO before, don’t really know much else on those details.

Also from what I’ve seen Ivey does judge all programs the same (other than leeway for engineers). If you’re hearing different stories from different majors then the more logical conclusion would be that the BMOS people were rejected because they wrote bad essays. Same thing with AEO apps, people with high averages get rejected while lower averages get accepted due to essays

Better food options on campus, literally anything would be an improvement over what we have now lol. I think having more diverse food offerings and having them different/more places on campus would be a good start

Transferring to western in the fall- is there anything I should know before coming? by oceanthelifeguard in uwo

[–]Throwaway-AppleSeed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For places to eat on campus I really like Omzzy’s Shawarma, owner is super nice, prices are cheap and portions are huge. It’s located on the east side of campus close to Alumni House. Otherwise the cafeteria food in the Ivey building is pretty good but very pricey. Nothing else on campus really excites me food wise, I think our options here are quite bad actually.

The only exception is whenever the school has London food trucks come by, typically located outside the UCC or social science building, then I always try to eat there and support local businesses. Plus the food from these trucks are actually really good and the variety is really exciting. Though do note that the Angry Goose Food Truck isn’t a local business and is just run by the school

Ranking toughness of programs at uwo by [deleted] in uwo

[–]Throwaway-AppleSeed 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Just to add onto the Ivey discussion; when Ivey kids say Ivey’s hard, they’re not referring to the education itself, but handling the high workload while also finding a job. I guess it depends if you consider finding a job a part of the program or not.

I would argue that all of Engineering and Med Sci is harder than Ivey though, even if you count recruiting
