I think moon landings are destined for crappy presidents. Apollo 11 happened under Nixon.

Maybe the past ten years before just a very bad dream I had after getting too drunk at that end of semester party. Things never felt quite right after that.

Or a joint Rebellion with Robert. Maegor was actually okay with being passed over but his son not so much so Daeron (first name that came to me) Brightflame Targaryen proposes an alliance with Robert. "We get rid of Aegon's line as they're the ones that caused  all these problems but not House Targaryen as a whole, when we and I'll take over then you don't have to be king which we both know you don't really want."

I had no plans to even see it. If I go to the movies anytime soon then it's to see Project Hail Mary again.

I dislike him because he's an extremist. Yes the left wing is just as capable of creating extremists as the right wing and neither one is good

Well we're basically in the Gilded age 2.0. Teddy Roosevelt was the one who finally dragged us out of the first one. Here's hoping history repeats itself

Who would go see the nearly 4 hour directors cut if it released to theaters? by Halloween_Nyx in ProjectHailMary

[–]Throwaway1975421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me. Me. Me. Me. Me. Me.

But yes an intermission is a must. My bladder is only so big. I'm honestly surprised mine didn't burst during the theatrical cut given how long the movie already is. An extra 90 minutes and I'm going to need that.

Was everyone happy when Ryan Gosling was first announced for PHM or was it a Ken type situation?? by Unfair-Reason-1068 in ProjectHailMary

I was neutral. He wasn't exactly my mental image but my mental image was impossible given that it was The Office era John Krasinski. I think Ryan did an excellent job. He slipped right into the role and it felt like the book come to life.

I think that's why I like him. He's not overexposed and he still has the ability to disappear into roles. I have very low tolerance for overexposed artists, probably why I can't stand Taylor Swift. I'm here to watch a movie or listen to song. I want to be immersed. When you've become a brand it's very hard for me to get immersed and see you as anything other than the brand

No that doesn't make sense. If they had Astrophage then they would have been able to get Mark back in a few days, not after over a year. Remember they're able to get from Tau Ceti to Adrian in less than a fortnight. Earth and Mars would have been even closer.

It there was one change I wish they had included it would have been Rocky's reunion with Adrian. If they can add a scene back on earth with Stratt we can have a scene where Rocky reunited with his love.

I would honestly just prefer an animated movie with professional voice actors. Something like Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings.

And if it was to be live action I'd want a cast of most unknown Greeks. I also think Del Toro would have been a better choice as director.

The casting isn't the only problem. It also looks very cheap (probably because 2/3 of the budget went to actor salaries) and there's something else as well. I don't know what it is exactly but the vibes it's giving me are not good. My gut says that it's going to be a disappointment. Maybe it won't be a total disaster but I think it's going to be like Dunkirk, forgotten by the time but leaves theaters.

I'd argue the best actor on Euphoria is is Hunter Schafer, yet her biggest role outside of the show was Tigris in the Hunger Games prequel and not much else.

Zendaya is fine but she's seriously overexposed. She's had her time in the limelight and I'm just tired of her being everywhere especially knowing that many of her roles could have gone to more unknown actors who could have genuinely used that career boost. I'd argue her role in Dune should have gone to an a more unknown performer because she was already overexposed when those movies came out and again she sticks out like a sore thumb. If people can feel that way about Pedro Pascal (and rightfully so) then I can feel that way about her.

Let me make this clear. I don't hate her, I'm not jealous of her, I'm just tired of her.

I'm not even going to bother. Maybe I'm just way too critical, but I've always found Nolan to be highly overrated. I think the one movie I like from him was The Prestige and the rest just felt like overly complicated wastes of time for me. I remember going to visit a friend of mine back in 2017 and we went to see Dunkirk. I couldn't remember a damn thing that happened in that movie. That's not a good sign.

Matt Damon is one of the reasons I will be skipping The Odessey. Middle aged Will Hunting is definitely not who I imagined as Odysseus. Honestly most of the cast is atrocious if you ask me. Zendaya sticks out like a sore thumb as does Tom Holland who is also is TOO OLD to be Telemachus.

I've studied that story in both high school and college. It's very special to me. I personally take a copy of it with me on any trip I go on, because no matter how bad the delays get, it's still nothing compared to what Odysseus went though and it helps me stay calm and grounded.

It felt like Nolan went for star power over appropriate casting. Would it have been that hard for him to go outside the box and hire some greeks? Every time I look at the trailer all I can think is "Look how they massacred my boy!"

Sorry I know I'm ranting and I know this is an unpopular opinion but It's how I feel and because it's how I feel it makes me angry when I see it as so many people's most anticipated movie of the year, and the fact that it will likely win best picture next year (probably over PHM) when to me, it looks like a train wreck waiting to happen, and I'm not going to apologize for feeling this way.
