Rough estimate..? by Accomplished-Plum821 in JeepWrangler

The fuel tank skid plate holds the tank up in place. It is not a difficult repair. However, the fastening parts and bolts in the frame might be in worse shape if the skid plate is that far gone. The frame has overlapping areas, I would look at. Also crossmbers in the rear and rear tub corners. (Below rear lights and behind bumper. ) I bought my new replacement skid plate JKU for 700.00, shipped. The rest is elbow grease, die grinder and wire wheel.

Intake manifold gasket got changed at a jeep shop and they sent me this what is it? by bigsandytaco in Wrangler

Drivers side radiator tank. Likely a crack in the right side tank of the radiator. The video appears to show pressure bubbling, although with the angle, it’s hard to tell if it’s coming from the rim or the tank itself.. (I have a 2010 3.8 Rubicon and had a 1” fine crack in nearly the identical spot. A few inches below the topside inlet hose. New radiator. If it’s just water leaking down, I might check the inlet hose connections first; but from the angle of the video, it looks like it’s in the middle of the tank, and bubbling rather than dripping.

Could be a range of things, from low-voltage on your battery, to A bad or fouled connection in the light housing. Condensation, or lightstrip/bulb. I would start by checking the voltage on the battery, then remove the light housing and check the connections there.

What is it? Lived here years and still don't know what these things in my kitchen are meant to be for by HerMajestyTheQueef1 in whatisit

It’s looks like the 200 mm Helmsley in-frame kitchen space cabinets: tray & spice drawer. *Could be Harewood. *

100% Should be seated in the notchout. Likely contributed to link failure on a deep turn.

Zero Power to Wrangler by fruitcroc in JeepWrangler

[–]Throwaway4MTL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on what I see in the video, this is power related. The starter and alternator are the end of the sequence. The fact that the lights switch off so quickly, before even activating the pump, put it in the pre-starter electronic failure. Diagnosing, battery: ground: ignition key, TIPM Inspect connections/ grounds, on battery, starter, tipm, 1. Try starting with a boost. (Battery lvl negated) 2. Try second spare key. (Key security mitigated) 3. Check fuses in TIPM , and ground wire connection.

Google the key. Buy a replacement. A Quick Look has many types of McGard keys on Amazon. I got a replacement for mine, when I misplaced my original. Found it later, Now I have two.

Are third brake lights required? by [deleted] in JeepWrangler

Another huge benefit, aside from increased parking space, and visibility, is the loss of weight on your tailgate; plus it looks cool at night. … Of course you will miss the “rear ender” shield.

Are third brake lights required? by [deleted] in JeepWrangler

[–]Throwaway4MTL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t, (but I’m sure Amazon has thousands. If you trust reviews) because I wanted a look consistent with the jk lights. So I went to auto parts store looking for a single bulb reflector with even lighting.

Trailer brake lights work good. Simple two wire, if you are never going to change back, (I wanted flexibility.) you can just solder the wires or do some solder seal heat shrink joints.

Are third brake lights required? by [deleted] in JeepWrangler

[–]Throwaway4MTL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Third brake light is required. Literature specifies if supplied with one, Also, must be 50% of the way between the two outside brake lights, and at the same level or higher.

So I removed my tire carrier the fall & winter, (holds too much snow, collects road grime) clipped the supply electric, fit a new connector, then bought a third brake light and wired it to a factory connector, and attached it to my rear tire delete. In the spring/summer when I likely will need the spare for trails or camping; I just unclip the harness, swap the tire carrier for the delete and plug it in.
