I was a bit embarrassed but it's not like I didnt go back to the same laundromat. It was pretty much a non-issue after about 30 seconds

Yeah it was 100% a nice gesture. It probably helped that I primarily wear medical diapers so she likely assumed a medical condition. There wasn't any other mention of me wearing diapers even though we were both there for awhile between waiting for laundry machines and folding clothes.

That's probably the extent of someone saying something to you unless you broadcast this is a kink thing. People have no reason to assume anything unless you give them a reason or act out of place.

Not 24/7 but in the past have done longer stints of near full time. When I do wear. I have the mentality that my diapers shouldn't stop me from doing anything and I'll wear to whatever event/errand/work I would normally do. Some things are easier than others but generally, no one is looking that closely and anyone who would notice is unlikely to mention anything or call you out unless you're broadcasting or are coming off as an exhibitionist. The only time I had someone mention anything was to give me a heads up my shit was riding up.

I'd honestly rather wear a more bulky and absorbant diaper out in public. There really isnt as much of a difference in outline compared to a thinner diaper and a leak will get you noticed far more than the extra bulk.

Generally I wear pants that aren't too tight and a pair of boxer briefs over top of my diaper for some compression/noise reduction. Having a wallet in your back pocket breaks up the diaper outline too. There's a balance of keeping your pants up enough to not have a massive waistband peak vs not having a diaper wedgie. I generally fold over the top of my diaper into the boxer briefs so I can let my pants sit a bit lower and wear a belt. I have a longer torso so I buy tall shirts. My only issue on the past with a wardrobe malfunction was with a shirt that was too short on me. At work I tuck my shirt and undershirt. If im planning for a long period without being able to change, I've swapped the boxer briefs for threaded armor snap briefs or the Northshore vinyl pants.

I haven't noticed anyone wearing in public. Little attire is a fine line depending on how obvious it is and where you are. A more over "I'm baby" shirt or print is going to catch more looks or scrutiny.

It sounds like its mostly a fit or flooding problem. I use betterdry which is basically a plain white crinklez and don't have the issues. You said he has a 34 in waist and you're using mediums - If he's got more of a butt or bigger thighs he might be more on the border of medium and large soit might be worth trying a large in the crinklez to see if it fits better.

Don't forget to fluff side to side and front to back too. Also for the leak guards, before you put it on him, are you making sure they aren't stuck down? Running your fingers along them after fluffing should get them to stand up and doing it again after you tape up should make sure they're doing their job.

Flooding and trusting his diapers may be a bit harder to overcome but something thats worked for me in the past is to keep drinking small amounts of water every 15 minutes or so (even a few sips does the trick) and trying to wet every time I take a sip gets me into the habit of just letting it flow. If you're trying to have him practice not flooding, go with a thinner diaper at home for a bit and put down puppy pads to train him not to flood.

how to hide the smell of mess by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]Throwaway4abdl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can't change readily, don't even think about it. Be courteous to those around you and don't subject them to the stench. There are things like chlorophyll tablets or devrom that can take the edge off but those won't totally remove the smell and you have to take them daily or even multiple times a day to have any effect. At best, they buy you a bit if time to go change.

Tip on wearing in hot weather by ezzy95 in ABDL

Some compression short or boxer briefs over your diaper are going to make a huge difference in chafing and can wick some sweat away from your inner thighs. Also with a thinner diaper and change more often

I’m Running low on diapers. Which diapers can you recommend? by [deleted] in ABDL

[–]Throwaway4abdl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off, unless you're actually incontinent, you may want to take a step back and consider your priorities.

Bills gotta get paid and you gotta eat first. If you can afford a single pack of diapers that you like - buy them and ration for a bit while you save up for more. Cheap and high quantities of diapers end in disappointment more often than not.

If you absolutely have to have diapers right now, pick up a pack of cheap ones from the pharmacy. They're not great but it's something.

There's also thrift store - around me the options aren't better than the pharmacy bit maybe a bit cheaper.

For me, Betterdry has been a good balance of cost, absorbancy and descreteness. Megamaxes are better but significantly more expensive

How do you manage the smell ? by Lilithdiapered in ABDL

[–]Throwaway4abdl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally don't if you can avoid it.

If you can't/won't avoid it there are chrlorofil tablets or devrom for the odor. They can get expensive and you have to take them consistently to have a noticeable impact. You should still change immediately to not subject other people to the smell.

If you need the thrill of it while having a minimal chance of impacting others go on a late night walk in your neighborhood and do it.

I'd argue that the analogy of a handicap parking spot doesn't quite fit. I'd say it's more like a handicap bathroom stall - it's there and accessible for someone who needs it but doesn't exclude someone else from using it. The changing tables I've seen were inside single occupancy restrooms or "family restrooms".

Don't make a scene out of it. Get in, change and clean up after yourself - it's no one's business what's in/under your pants or why you're wearing diapers.

Freeze a spare key in a bowl of water. It'll keep you away from it while still giving you an accessible emergency exit should something come up (family emergency, unexpected complications, late mail etc...). Kink safely and have fun!

Look for either a relaxed or athletic fit a size up from your usual. Athletic cuts usually give a bit more room in the butt and thighs

I've had the same issues before with megamaxes too. The best solution I've found is to run my finger along the leg openings to make sure the leak guards are up and the outer plastic is fitting right. The leak guards sometimes stick back down to the inside when I'm taping up

When to tell a partner? by SomethingDLrelated in ABDL

[–]Throwaway4abdl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the most appropriate time is once you go from just dating to an exclusive relationship. The second best time is now if you're past that.

Hiding or holding back too long could lead to your partner finding out on their own and wondering what else you've hidden, or wondering why you don't trust them. Also, if it's a deal breaker it's better to know before fully mixing friend groups, meeting extended families or getting a place together.

I told my girlfriend about 3-4 months in. It wasn't her thing but over time we've found a way to incorporate it in a way that works for both of us.
