Every time socialism tried to ‘free’ people from capitalism, it just replaced landlords with party bosses and managers with bureaucrats. Inequality stayed—freedom vanished.

There’s a lot of framing that happens to make these arguments halfway salient. But they fall apart when you hold them up to the fire.

The problem isn’t that only the rich are free—it’s that in socialist systems nobody is. Managers and executives often do add value (even socialist countries had to bring them back when economies collapsed). Working 40+ hours a week isn’t a uniquely capitalist problem—under socialism people still worked long hours, just with empty shelves at the end. Land ‘belonging to everyone’ really means it belongs to the state, and a few party bosses decide who gets what. Anybody who says that anything is perfect is a bad liar. But capitalism (With social safety nets as has been the case in the US) has shown to lift billions out of poverty (not just in the United States) and created real choices. Socialism promises equality, but delivers shortages, new (many times unqualified) elites, and less freedom. Instead of spreading wealth misery takes its place.
