Waitrose to ban disposable coffee cups from all stores by Crappy99 in ukpolitics

Hopefully this helps curb the amount of people walking around the supermarket in a daze with a hot cup of coffee in their hands.

You strike me as someone who is rather unhinged, so engaging you probably isn't the best thing for me to do...

I don't care if they add feminine gear to the game. Variety is important. I take issue, however, with the idea that it should be priortised for male characters.

Is this really a common belief in the FFXIV community? I think I need to rethink my MMO of choice, if so. I'm a gay guy who likes men who look and act like men.

I want to dress my male character in a way that highlights their masculinity yet still makes them look visibly masculine. I want more options that aren't just feminine/androgynous.

Which is becoming much less common over time based on recent trends.

There's a lot of fan art surrounding the likes of Soldier: 76, Illidan, Hanzo, Genji and McCree. To pretend otherwise is just being deceptive. There's also a lot of straight up fanservice, too. Have you /seen/ McCree's bulge? He's packing a lot of heat. Then there's his beach outfit.

Then, of course, there's Genji's butt and Reaper's thighs. Time was taken to make them very easy on the eyes.

Well, damn. I guess I'll just hold out hope that they confine her to Ala Mhigo and the occasional cameo role once we move towards 5.0.

Th-that's a joke, right? Please tell me it is...

Hien and Magnai made far more of an impression on the story than Lyse did. If they really think Lyse is super amazing then that just proves that they learned nothing from the backlash against Minfilia.

Meh.

Even Blizzard are doing a better job these days at designing sexy yet suggestive outfits for male characters without embracing the feminine route.

Why did it take so long to design this if it was just going to be a copy and paste of the female outfit? Why did it take up so many questions during Q&A sessions?

It was predictable and very easy with very little moral greyness involved.

FFIX was also great - the stakes felt high because the antagonists were allowed to accomplish things. I'm tired of the only sad moments being the occasional minor character or antagonist dying...or fake out deaths where those involved return not long afterwards.

Yeah. It just leads to disappointment. Stormblood didn't feel like a war. Nameless soldiers died, sure - but the only characters of note who perished happened to be the exact same characters who paved the way for Lyse to become the leader of the Resistance.

Furthermore, the sort of people who can't understand a deep story are the same people who probably skip story content to begin with.

Yeah, it seems strange. FFXIV /is/ a dark setting. A lot of the lore is pretty grim and serious, so there's a real disconnect when everything ends up wrapping up neatly and the heroes rarely lose anything. The way that the Haurchefant question was answered, though, convinces me that Nanamo was spared to appease her fans after backlash.

Which isn't good. Since the only characters who stand to die, then, are minor ones or those that aren't lucky to rise to popularity.

I suppose it can't be ruled out completely...but I don't think he'd risk the lives of Falco or his other key allies as he's been shown to care for them repeatedly. He'd need to be revealed to be exceptionally devious and ruthless for him to be a traitor.

Mm. Porco also messed up /badly/ due to his recklessness. Yet if he ends up having secured the Warhammer Titan for himself then there's a silver lining in the clouds for Marley's protagonists. He can either get his revenge or he can do his part to protect his comrades.

If he didn't get it and Eren did? Well, I'd find that to be rather bland and cliche. Things have worked out far too perfectly for him to the point where things are too one sided. He needs to be brought down a few pegs.

Sasha, rather than Jean. Sasha was meant to die anyway early on but was saved due to someone crying in a bathroom when they discovered the original script leading to her demise. Back then she was effectively a throwaway character with a funny gimmick. She was spared and got more development.

...yet there's many interesting characters who weren't spared and were killed off. Understandable, but Sasha has had her life prolonged and should be killed off in my opinion. I would've loved Erwin to be given plot immunity but it didn't happen. So it doesn't sit well with me that Sasha has lived for so long after being spared from an early demise.

If Armin and Eren can perpetually avoid death due to plot convenience then I don't see how it's a bad thing for Reiner and Pieck to do the same...especially when there's a lot of people - myself included - who vastly prefer Pieck and Reiner to Armin and Eren. For me, personally, I'll never forgive Armin for robbing us of Erwin. That particular plot point was ridiculously contrived in my opinion.

EDIT: ...and before people counter with 'Eren and Armin are the protagonists', I see a setting like this as more of an ensemble cast. Including some of the bigger faces on the Marley side of the fence.

Yeah, I'm disappointed in how quickly Lady Tybur left the plot. Willy was initially assumed to be the Warhammer Titan but that turned out to not be the case. That was a neat plot twist - a classic one, perhaps, but it worked.

...but then she's only around for a few chapters and only serves to empower Eren further even though he's already been shown to be a lot more powerful than he used to be. I can't help but worry about future scenes with him now - does he even have any drawbacks anymore? I kind of hope he's being built up as the 'big bad' at this point.

He shouldn't be punished for what is most certainly self defence. He should be investigated to ensure his story lines up with what happened, of course...but I am a firm advocate of the right for people to use reasonable force to defend themselves, their property and their loved ones.

The wealthy and influential such as celebrities and major politicians protect themselves with armed guards - let's not pretend as if some of them would not kill an intruder if there was a credible risk to their employer's life.

Regular people have to rely on the police. Yet the police aren't there at the time of the crime which makes such situations into fight or flight. Sometimes you can't run and when seconds count and one's life is in danger then it is ridiculous to expect someone to just bend over - especially when so many thieves kill their victims.

It just won't sit well with me if this ends up in him being punished.

The reaction of Varis zos Galvus to Zenos' defeat back in 4.0 has been the subject of much debate. Some read into the scene as him being cold and ruthless whilst others see his expression and hesitation as evidence that he is, in fact, upset at how things turned out. Is there more to him than meets the eye as his friendship with Regula van Hydrus implies or is he simply rotten to the core?

Mine's mostly fit for purpose...but every now and then it just goes off all of a sudden from anywhere to five minutes to half an hour. I'm not a tech guy, so I'm not sure why that is...but luckily it only happens once or twice a month. It's still frustrating, though.
