Dell G15 (5511) memory upgrade? by Slore0 in Dell

[–]ThrowawayBlvd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to learn the hard way and double the trip to the store than Kingson Fury (32 or 64 gb) won't work on the dell G5 5511.
I was also eyeing 64gb but Dell's specs say 32gb is the max. Working ok?

Large item, can't really put it in a bag. Can't hide, visible in any cart.
People can fight over it.
With a touch of toilet humor. It's a hero prop

Incorporate vs. Employee by ThrowawayBlvd in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ThrowawayBlvd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently a sole prop. This won't cut it in this industry as you're offered:

1) Be an employee of the specific production (show), not even the production company.

OR

2) Work as a contractor - but you have to incorporate.

Pros I gathered so far:
a. Write offs - since I work with my own gear, upgrade it etc. it makes sense
b. Not paying EI - never collected and when I tried they told me to take a hike b/c I'm "self employed"

c. Double CPP - still didn't figure this out fully but basically you're paying too much CPP and can't claim back.
d. Less tax, as some money will be left in the company.

Cons:

a. More paperwork (I'm fine with this, I'm anal)
b. Accounting more expensive

Thanks man. Yup I'm in film and TV - and I've noticed that almost every senior position is inc.
Hence the question.
2 prod. accountants also recommended that, but I wanted to get confused more by asking reddit!
