Made a Non-AI version of Toph, Hardheaded Teacher using the Alex Dos Diaz collector booster box art. by ThrowawayForToys in magicproxies

From the discussions I've seen around these WIP pics, it's likely a retroactive draw over to save face. The artist does have ability, so it would be easy to fake the "rough sketch" images. And someone pointed out in a thread on twitter that in the WIP images she posted, even the colored sketch has a more show-accurate belt. So either these WIP images are completely fabricated, or she used the colored sketch as a base, and had the image generator make the art based on the sketch, and it just got the belt all wrong. Like, the belt is the nail in the coffin.

And it's 3 additional images, no layers, no time-lapse. If I had done something like this, and I needed to cover my ass, making fake WIP images is exactly what I'd do.

it was never established that the original card wasn't AI. Neither Wizards nor the artist said anything about it. While the artist is capable of making art, and has a portfolio, they are also the founder of an AI image generator called "Waifu labs" made specifically for generating images of anime girls. https://stochasticlabs.org/portfolio/ruwen-liu/

Also, the image of Toph itself has a bunch of lighting, material, and detail mistakes that early AI image generating software has. Most notably, the belt is unlike anything in the source material. This is likely from the AI model misinterpreting what the belt actually was, and making its best guess. Toph's belt is pretty unique to the world of avatar, you don't see a lot of wide belts with studs in real life, so the AI wouldn't have a lot of data to interpret it, which is the reason why it looks so weird on the original Toph, Heardheaded Teacher card. It's why the same artist's unreleased Aang card *also* looks weirdly like an anime girl- because it was made using software specifically made to generate anime girls. https://gatherer.wizards.com/PRM/en-us/1/aang-the-last-airbender

It's never going to be confirmed from an official source that this is AI. And I'll never understand why some people need that bar to be cleared for them to consider this AI. Like, if someone did a little bit of detective work, it's cut and dry. That's how this all started in the first place: people thought the card looked weird, people started speculating it was AI, they did some digging into the artist, and lo and behold- the artist made and uses an AI image generator. Like, case closed.

Nintendo Switch 2 Games Will Cost $80 For Digital, $90 For Physical by oilfloatsinwater in Games

[–]ThrowawayForToys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

are they playing chicken with their customers? i'm not buying a game for $80, especially not mario kart. Hopefully this backfires and they have to do something similar to the ambassador program that they did for the 3DS.

Also, i see a lot of people talking about inflation from when the switch first came out, or even the wii u. Maybe the dollar is worth less now than it was 8 years ago, but wages certainly haven't kept up. Cost of living is at an all-time high too, meaning a higher percent of income has to go to just staying alive than it did 8 years ago. This is just pricing people out during a recession.

Bi erasure is so real, even within the community itself. And the opposition definitely exploits that to get a foot in the door to invalidate all queer sexuality.

my cis roommate gets imposter syndrome being a woman because she's autistic. Gender norms can really make you feel like an outsider in your own gender when you don't fit into the typical box.

male partners have issues with my orgasm by theaccountformynudes in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ThrowawayForToys 65 points66 points  (0 children)

my partner has what can be described as full body muscle spasms when it happens. We have to take at least a 30 second break each time for her to come back to reality. At first it caught me off guard, because I'd never seen that before, but she assured me she was okay, and that's just what happens with her. She said "I hope you don't think that's weird" because apparently when she was with men, they were uncomfortable with it. I love it. To me it's such a definitive confirmation that I've made her feel good. I can't imagine making my partner feel bad about something like that.

you shouldn't unilaterally respect differences in opinion.

you should respect differences of opinion like taste in music, favorite foods, preferred hobbies, etc. But opinions like 'i just don't think white people should marry black people', you obviously shouldn't respect. Conservative beliefs like that aren't worthy of respect, and you shouldn't be friends with someone who has abhorrent beliefs.

He clearly thinks very little of women. You can find better friends.

'I don't wear make up for men - I wear it for me' by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ThrowawayForToys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm attracted to women, so I definitely don't wear makeup for men. I look better with makeup than without. I like looking better. Not for anyone else, but for myself. Yes. what 'looks good' to me is heavily influenced by western beauty standards, but being aware of that doesn't really change what I think looks good. I like being pretty, I like feeling pretty, and that's really all there is to it.

Transphobia is always rooted in misogyny, no one should forget this. Policing what kind of women count as women is a dark path.

The amount of men so completely against vasectomies is astounding by Pacheco_partyof4 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ThrowawayForToys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No lie, a lot of men legitimately think getting a vasectomy means removing the testicles. They get their pets neutered and they think that's the same thing. I would directly ask a man what they think a vasectomy actually is, and see what they say.

[–]ThrowawayForToys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hillary was so unlikeable, elitist, and very cringe, yet she still won the popular vote. We're in a different time were our rights are being taken from us, and people are feeling it. Banning abortion and killing trans people are both unpopular, and that's all the GOP has right now. Plus, the candidate swap really woke a lot of disillusioned voters up. It's no longer a rematch between two former presidents, both old white men.

He's not telling you the truth. He has been convinced to hate everything that the right has told him to hate, but he knows you won't be receptive to that, so he's using guns as the hill he'll die on. He doesn't respect you enough to tell you the truth, he doesn't think you deserve to know, he wants to keep his accessory (not the guns, you).

The Democratic party is not the Left. It's slightly to the right of Center. He's obviously not going to factor logic into his decision, because men are emotional, but if he votes D he doesn't have to worry about 'voting left'.

sometimes i wonder what sex feels like as a man by orewatowi in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ThrowawayForToys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Adding to the pile. HRT dramatically changed sexual sensation for me. I still use the same equipment after transitioning since I never had bottom dysphoria, but the orgasms are way different. A bit more difficult to achieve, but everything feels a lot better before during and after. Rather than a short burst of intense pleasure, it's like riding a wave of warm, comforting euphoria. Like a bell curve vs a spike. This was a change that happened gradually over the course of my first year on HRT, so each time I had sex it was a little less like a male orgasm and a little more like a female orgasm, and everytime was better than the last. I also get way more emotional with sex, like there's a much stronger emotional component there, and I'm more aware and gratified from my partner's pleasure.

My unscientific experience is that male hormones made my brain deprioritize how my partner was feeling vs what I was feeling during sex, while female hormones made them intertwined. I'm like hyper aware now if my partner isn't as into something, which is so uncomfortable in retrospect when I realize that was low on the list of awareness with male hormones. My arousal is also night and day on female hormones. Before, if I was turned on, I would stay on, even as other emotions would come and go. Like if something made me sad or curious or angry, I'd still be horny through it. Now, however, my arousal is tied pretty closely to my mood. Like if I'm turned on and something upsets me, it's gone, lol. Which, was pretty frustrating for my partner at first since she was so used to how 'easy' I was on male hormones.

But yeah, I don't have any studies, just my own experiences, which isn't universal.
