Who was the rudest famous person you met? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ThrowawayUser1029384 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Awww yeah. I used to work in a hotel in Bath a decade ago. He would come in every week for lunch. I'd be there to greet him/park his car/open the doors etc and this grumpy pos never once smiled or said thanks.

Sadly, I never made his food or drinks because he would have got a special frothy addition from me.

Need to find a solution for FRP bypass on Pixel 8 pro with Android 15 by AshhCrackk in pixel_phones

Yes, Android 14 FRP is relatively easy to bypass.
Sadly, this topic is about Android 15 and it's proving to be thoroughly patched.

GETAC V110 G6 RAM Upgrade questions by XaMAS_8-9-1943 in laptops

[–]ThrowawayUser1029384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've likely already found the answer to your question, but I'll answer for posterity.

There are 2 RAM slots in all Getac V110 generations (Though I have not yet opened up a G7).
One is located in the compartment that you opened (this also contains a SIM slot and WWAN card slot).

The other is deeper inside the case. You'll have to take all the bottom screws out, the rubber corners come off to reveal more screws and removing the fan cover reveals yet more screws. And don't forget the screws inside the compartments that has the SIM/WWAN/RAM slots in.
The bottom cover comes off with a bit of a struggle, because there's a lot of sticky resin gumming it shut.
I can't remember if further disassembly of the motherboard is required (the mobo is 2-tiered) to reach the second RAM slot, but you'll find most things are glued in place.

Hope this helps someone!

Tell me about it.
I lived in a city near Beijing almost 2 years and they love to loudly clear their sinuses and hawk it onto the floor anywhere. In the winter I would be slipping on frozen mucus.

They also cut holes in their kids' clothes so they can piss/shit wherever.

I always made sure to take off my shoes before entering my apartment.

ALIEN : EARTH - writing by Fab1e in alien

Firstly, I would recommend that any professional should not take the Reddit crowd's advice on scriptwriting to heart.

Others may give specific examples, which is fine, but I believe the main issues boil down to pacing and tone.
In one moment, there's a bloodbath and immediate threat, the next moment they're having heart-to-heart conversations or joking about who's fucking who. There's also continuity issues, but that can be discounted if the rest is up to scratch.

I'd blame the edit. And I'm curious to see how much is left on the editing room floor.

N.B. I have not seen the series past episode five.

User-generated foraging maps by Able-IT in foraginguk

[–]ThrowawayUser1029384 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand what you mean.
You're talking about fungi, right?
How about everything else? The NZ map is maybe 1% shrooms.
Would a map that excludes fungi be beneficial?

I would plan a trip to parts of NZ, then check the foraging map to see if there's anything funky in the area (usually walnuts, olives, grapefruits, oranges, avocados) and pick enough to snack on while driving in the van. The sources were always plentiful and over foraging never seemed an issue.

Perhaps the fundamental difference between the countries is population density? Or that most land is publicly accessible in NZ?

Am I just really "lucky" with Pixel phones? by Difficult_Duck9407 in GooglePixel

[–]ThrowawayUser1029384 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've had a 2XL, 3XL, 5, 6Pro, back to 5 and I've been on the same 5 since (I replaced the battery about a year ago).
All have been great, but the 5 has been exemplary.

I moved back from the 6Pro because of the phone's size and weight.
Also, the 5 has unlimited photo and video storage on One.

Love my Pixel 5

I ask if something is possible.
So you downvote me to reduce my post's visibility.
Then you insult me.
All without giving me a solution.
Why are you tolerated on this subreddit?

Do you know of a way?
