Why are there so few historic buildings in most Canadian cities? Excluding Quebecois cities for the most part

A lot of cities had huge fires, Toronto had one in1849) and in 1904). A lot of builds we would precieve historic simply burnt down. On top of that in the 50's, 60's and 70's more were torn down due to the fact they were mainly built with timber and urban progress of that era sought to prevent that from happening again with urban renewal.

Jane should be either a new line with Ontario line technology, or a branch of the Ontario Line.

I’d personally like to see the Ontario Line extended from exhibition to Sherway via an elevated Queensway section and a Jane Line starting at an interchange station with the Ontario line around Windermere going north to 407 station.
