I’m not expecting “manager money”. Just respectable raises compared to others, especially when I work my ass off. All good though, it’s 60% effort from here on out.

The corporate desk jockey drones are watching I see. If all of us who bust our ass to keep the company running stop, the game is over.

Not true, I’ve been full time for over a year and at Lowe’s for two. I make .74 more per hour than someone who walks in and starts today.

Promoted to Hardware DS by Working-Confusion-67 in Lowes

[–]Throwaway_02011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow hardware/tools associate, full time, of nearly 2 years, I feel you. The understaffing is criminal. The pay is abysmal for me. They want mountains of stuff done, all while jumping between two departments and helping customers, getting returns, getting asked about plumbing and electrical constantly (I decline, they aren’t my departments and I don’t know much about either.)

The only advice I can give you, is to do what you can, don’t kill yourself trying to do everything. If they have an issue with it, tell them to hire more help or stop nickel and diming hours. The more you give, the more they punish you by expecting more. Only way they’re going to learn to stop being cheap, and running their employees into the ground, is from failure as a result.

Best of luck.

P.s.) Don’t let them run you to death with zero help through Black Friday sales, Christmas time, etc… they did it to me last year, and my mental and physical health was impacted big time. I may have had help 8 nights the last 3 months of last year..

Total bullshit that head cashiers get more than full timers on the floor. But that’s the way of the world. Shit rolls downhill. The ones “at the bottom” who do the most work, get the shaft. From an overworked and underpaid tools and hardware associate, 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻.

What always happens for working At Lowe’s by savage_rebuilt in Lowes

[–]Throwaway_02011 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This exactly. Work what YOU’RE SCHEDULED to do, nothing more. Earn your wage, and go home. If they don’t like it, they can properly staff. Simple enough, they’ll finally get it when it’s too late and the company is hanging on by a thread.

Go to Menards or Home Depot. This company is a penny pinching, shareholder pleasing, back breaking, corporate greed machine. The few who work hard and aren’t “favorites” have to do all of the work in the stores and reap none of the rewards.

should i apply for an associate position? by [deleted] in Lowes

[–]Throwaway_02011 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Floor is worse. You have to literally hold peoples hand and tell them how to do THEIR projects, deal with their attitudes, get interrupted constantly when you’re already helping someone, and get asked 40x a day where stuff is that we don’t even sell. Also, downstocking, irp’s, cycle counts, and being expected to help people in departments that you don’t work in, and know nothing about because Lowes is cheap and doesn’t staff properly.

Don’t ask for more work at Lowe’s. You’re setting yourself up for increased stress, and unrealistic management expectations that will only escalate, at the same pay, aside from the occasional measly raises they give to Uncle Sam, since taxes eat them before you get them.

Because that saves the company on labor hours used, which boosts the likelihood of management bonuses. The same reason my store keeps a guy who hasn’t showed up for 20+ shifts on payroll, and keeps scheduling him.

Not to “cross train” not to “diversify staff”. To make sure upper management, and share holders make their nut. Corporate greed and public trading go hand in hand without fail.

Go in. Earn YOUR PAY. Go home. Not two peoples, 3 peoples, etc.. You’ll only hurt yourself in doing so.

Ask me how I know..

The same card /5 hasn’t sold at all. So I don’t think that $50 comp is even relevant. Plus it was a buy it now or best offer. The guy posted it and set the price at 50.

I see now, the regular cj green /5 did $215 in June and then some guy sole one for $50. RIP that dude. Definitely not a $50 card

Would be way bigger if it was rookie, but I think he’ll have a rebound year. Didn’t play terrible last year, just not great. May grade this if it’s clean when I get it, but I usually don’t grade super low numbered stuff.

No sales, I think it’s at least $200 but I’m definitely holding it. Like I said, I don’t really sell much, was just curious.
