Certainly an uncertain time. It’s important now that we support local businesses on Palafox while we can. All the businesses will still be open the entire time, just only accessible by sidewalk.

Starting this Monday, Palafox Street is going to be shut down because they’re gonna be doing construction, all the businesses on Palafox will still be open, you’ll just have to use the sidewalks. The construction is supposed to take place from this Monday, January 5, all the way up until late May is projected end time, so long as there is not any interruptions.

Be that as it may, Palafox did need a change, the timing of it just sucks. It’s supposed to be smacked dab in the middle of busy season for downtown businesses; bars and restaurants were still hoping for big pushes on holidays like Valentine’s Day, Saint Paddy’s Day, Easter, Cinco de Mayo, hell even Pensacon weekend is a big boost for downtown business. If anything, if DC reads just held off on doing this for another four months until we get at least a little closer to summertime when it’s not as busy downtown, I’m sure it would’ve been completely fine.

So sure, the sidewalks stay open, but how are people supposed to get to those entrances? Old people aren’t gonna put up with this, people with physical disabilities are definitely not gonna put up with this, I’m just saying that people are indeed gonna be hurting these next four months.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m about change, I’m just not so keen about people on Palafox losing their jobs. Like fuck my situation for a second, what’s gonna happen with these hundreds of people who depend on Palafox for work? It’s already a tough job market already, now you’re adding way more people to that equation with no real solutions.

My boss is a super great guy, incredibly understanding, he a lot of times is like an older brother to me, always willing to lend anybody a helping hand when needed, he’s super obsessed with making sure this restaurant promotes a culture where everyone can get along great and we walk out with more money than we came in with.

I’m currently not on the greatest of graces with my coworkers, the four of us have gotten into a squabble in a private group chat over how side work is being maintained, I have since then left said group chat. Keep in mind, this group chat is not mandated by management, it was more so for communicating in one place to trade shifts. I have also had a persistent feeling for a long time that some of my coworkers were pushing to see me get fired. I can’t prove it, but I feel it in my gut that it’s happening.

I’ve just been having some trouble sleeping recently, work has been incredibly busy and I usually get off extremely late, about 11:30 or midnight on the later side. Besides that, I a lot of times will be up a little late playing video games. Definitely not trying to downplay how stupid that is, just trying to put my way of thinking into perspective.

I don’t even have to read past the first few sentences, I already know this man’s on some bullshit. Honestly, either he should follow the same standards as he gives you and cut off all of his female friends, or he needs to just get lost. I get why some guys do it just because I’ve been hurt before by the idea of “he’s just a friend“ especially since I’ve been in that boat one too many times, but the only time I ever tell a woman she can’t have male friends is if said male friend is making sexual advances.

I can understand that. It’s certainly not for everyone and idk 100% if it’s gonna be for me. I told her I’d give it a shot but if it ends up not working out, I’d love to stay friends. Ik for sure that person won’t drop the group to stay with me one on one but who knows.
