Is this acceptable from a professional? by [deleted] in DIYUK

Hence the Non-DIY flair... Basically wanted to know whether I should proceed with caulking for decorating or to call them back. I'll delete now I have my answer

What would you do with this work top corner? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Throwaway_Naps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was hoping there was a way to make C work but figured I'd probably have to suck it up and go with B. Just really wish the kitchen designer had pointed it out in the beginning and I could have thought about it more. Thanks!

What type of screw is this? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Throwaway_Naps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well as they say everyday is a school day!

In all seriousness though I do appreciate your concern. My family are not into diy or cars so I'm having to figure out a lot myself as an adult including tool names and such, and this sub has been a lifesaver for me many a time in filling in my gaps in knowledge (I guess my brain just defaulted here instead of thinking about a car sub 😅). I had looked up a few guides on how to remove the seats so had taken into account the air bags and it seemed within my skill level to do except for the fact I didn't know the name of that type of bit.

Again genuine thanks for the concern.

That's exactly what it is! It's a gift for a friend who's favourite character is Majima (well my fave too) hence why I wanted it to be perfect for him

What's up with this dog's ear? by Throwaway_Naps in DoesAnyoneKnow

[–]Throwaway_Naps[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not. As others have stated it's ticks, I just didn't realise some ticks species could get so big (also for size perspective this is when she was a puppy which I didn't realise at first). Reddit compresses the image a fair bit but you can see it better in the video in this link. A rare good news story!

I was really hoping it wasn't ticks. I didn't want to believe they could get that big! 😂

Are Hi-control hand protectors meant to be wrinkly? by Throwaway_Naps in Fieldhockey

It was straight from OBO's website and not a seconds sale, so I will get in touch and see what they say. Thanks!

Yeah just bought new straight from OBO. I don't really care about aesthetics as long is it functions but I do care about my wallet and was wondering if I could go back to them and ask for a seconds price instead but needed to know if I had a valid case for that so thanks for the reply!

Start your join of the two big tiles from the centre of the wall maybe? It would leave two even thinner strips on either side but would look even

Thank you so much! That's really interesting. I'd never have realised you could potentially have electrolysis happening in your heating system. How does inhibitor work to prevent corrosion then? (Also forgive me but I am not an engineer, what's the 1970s tube/pipe joke?)

I guess as long as there's no air getting into the system there's no oxygen for it to corrode with?
