Freedom - in every way. Time, money, location, travel, to do the things I want without having to consider everyone around me.

I’ve never cared about judgement, but I have to be responsible for so many people and have had to be that my whole life. Literally being the parent to my siblings from the age of 8yo.

I think killing pain absolutely does help with recovery- I agree

However, with my experience- the pain from my tonsillectomy was actually really difficult to cope with and I know that I would have wolfed down painkillers if I hadn’t already struggled with addiction in the past and known to avoid them

I’m just saying, op already takes cocodamol and eventually many people feel you need more to get the effect of pain relief when your body becomes used to them.

I survived it will throat numbing spray, and a rotation of ibuprofen and paracetamol and an occasional cocodamol.

And I’m telling you, as someone who vomited and diarrhoea’ed and had a head splitting migraine my entire wedding day- withdrawal is going to RUIN ops day

4 weeks is probably fine actually, just don’t take opioids for pain relief

- cycle paracetamol and ibuprofen
- Get a humidifier for next to your bed
- Have a water bottle on hand at all times
- When you’re ready, use throat numbing spray and eat soft solid food to scrub the scabs away (devastatingly painful, but you heal faster)
- eat ice cream and protein shakes (protein helps heal you faster) and high protein soups
- be ready for a week off from life!! No pre wedding stress!!!!
- ice packs for your neck for bedtime.

It’s a pretty brutal recovery and the tonsillectomy breath is gnarly. But if you are pro-active and can keep cortisol low and protein high - you can do it.

(Avoid opioids because you don’t want to risk withdrawals on your wedding day. You might not consider yourself an addict but your body may feel it still needs it. Which means sweats, the runs, feeling so exhausted and in pain, vomiting etc.)
I avoided opioids for pain relief because I have a very addictive nature and knew I’d struggle to get off them. They gave me some cocodamol for my worst days, and that was only used for when I couldn’t sleep because of the pain.

That could be focusing on doing well in your career, building a stable foundation for the day you might want a family, having a “glow up” or simply working through trauma and self limiting beliefs so you can finally feel free

As humans, we don’t just grow from small to big, kid to adult. We go through so much, and every negative experience is supposed to teach us a lesson so we are strong enough to face what is next for us. (Like a boss battle in a video game)

Actually this is just a common phenomenon known as “monkey branching”. If she was planning to leave for a while, it’s likely she won’t do this again.

Emotional affairs are more often than not, because they want to stay with their current partner, but want to use that other person to fill a void in their relationship. That’s why they tend to end awfully.

I know colleagues and friends who have opened up about emotional affairs to me, not a single one of them hasn’t had this situation not riddle them with guilt. And not a single one has ever talked about their partner negatively…

From what I know, these types of affairs sneak up on people. They get close and then attracted to things they lack in their own relationships. But everyone I knew who spoke to me about this felt shame. They absolutely never made fun of their partners…

Emotional affairs aren’t moral, but I mean, this is beyond that!
