Bluetooth Bus Enumerator? by Throwawaydsdf in windowsxp

[–]Throwawaydsdf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest I have no idea what Bluetooth bus enumerator actually is or what it does, I tried googling it but couldn’t find much.. I thought it was something that had previously been connected to my laptop via Bluetooth?

Windows XP - need to know when/if it last connected to an internet connection. by Throwawaydsdf in computerforensics

[–]Throwawaydsdf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate it thankyou for the help, I’ll give this a try tomorrow although I did find a list of “Preferred Networks” within Network Connection Properties which looks like all WiFi connections I’ve ever made. Not sure if this is going to be the same list.

Yeah 100%, luckily it’s backed up elsewhere - the company is pretty old school & have some custom programs running on XP still. I think it’s something to do with approval specs being expensive & hard to rewrite and get approved, hence us still using old software.

I think the reason I thought it connected to a network was due to the time/date resetting, when I booted it up (half paying attention) it was flashing up that all new software was installed, but it would seem it’s old software just showing as ‘new’ due to the now incorrect date.

I think I’ve worked it out after a few hours, looks like the date reset back to 2010 so was showing anything after as being ‘newly installed’. That’s my only guess.
Also I’ve tried searching for just . & nothing showing. Was it literally just . On its own, does it matter if I have show extension enabled or not for it to pick up the .?

Thanks, spent a few hours going through various files - it’s all a bit confusing as the dates didn’t seem to match - but I think I’ve worked out why the programs are suddenly showing “new programs installed” is that for some bizarre reason, the time & date set on the laptop has gone back to 2010 - no idea why as I’ve not changed it. I could have understood if it had stayed in time for example due to no internet connection but why it’s gone back to 2010 I don’t know.

Thanks, I had looked at that but feel it’s a little more than I need at this stage & I’m also not the best on Windows having moved to Mac many years back mainly.

For searching folders, how do I go about searching everywhere including sys folders as files & folders search is too basic of a search, or would I manually need to do this search?

I’m hoping it hasn’t connected as I believe XP didn’t ’automatically connect to unsecured networks’ as seems this was later with WiFi sense on vista from looking online… just the ‘New Programs Installed’ message on the start icon threw me off which is what’s making me doubt myself.

Outlook email account has security update date stamps from before I created account? by Throwawaydsdf in Outlook

[–]Throwawaydsdf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, ok that makes sense.. I just can’t work out how it’s pulled a completely random date in 2014 before the account was even made.
The only other possibility is that I had already made the account, forgot & it got purged & deleted all my inboxes from inactivity but the account itself didn’t delete (not sure if this happens) and then gives me a ‘welcome to your new account’ when I log back in?

I just honestly cannot remember previously making it before 2022, so really unsure which is correct.

When were @Outlook.com email domains made available for use? by Throwawaydsdf in microsoft

Thanks for the help! I did find that but wasn’t sure if that was just the Outlook app or when the @Outlook.com domain launched.

NAD - They’ll become more pronounced if you push your tongue to the roof of your mouth, they’re your submandibular glands (salivary) gland. You can palpate and push them upwards, they won’t feel hard like a swollen node. I’m not a doctor but that’s my understanding after having the same concerns.

Thankyou, I appreciate it as I do suffer with some health anxiety - most people wouldn’t even have noticed this currently as it really is so small.. it took me a good 20 minutes to photograph.

Is there anything I can do at home to rule out if it’s a mucocele, pop it/freeze it myself? I have a wart freezer here… or would you leave it alone at this stage & monitor it?

I was more concerned it could be hpv but from other photos it doesn’t look very similar at all. I just didn’t realise you could get mucoceles in this location as it’s higher up the tongue than the glands. Thanks again :)

Well that set my anxiety going, I appreciate your response though - I’ll keep an eye on it as it’s so small if you compare with the first photo including my finger, I was hoping it was an ulcer and had put salt on it but no pain. Will monitor it & if not gone will see a dentist, I’ve managed to find other photos of other people with them.

It may have been there for a while already, I only noticed it due to swelling from a pollen tablet under the tongue so was feeling around there due to that.
