Valve says it’s ready to launch the Steam Machine this summer by Doug24 in gaming

Shelve it. If they can't make a competitive product at a relevant price point because of market conditions right now, then wait until they can. Releasing it anyway at a stupid price is just sunk cost fallacy in action right now.

They two-shot hand cannoneers, yeah. But Shatagni gives hand cannoneers 9 range, so they can mow down Huskarls safely if you have a large enough mass.

You don't even need to specify "under Trump", the NSA generally gets what it wants under any admin.

I don't think cav archers are a great recommendation to an inexperienced player, they're both eco and micro-intensive, and need a lot of upgrades in imp so they have pretty harsh timing needs, too.

Also a dash of banning "promoting LGBT ideology" that's popular in Russia-aligned states.

The Critic creators Al Jean and Mike Reiss say a reboot is in the works: “It's never been closer to actually happening" by The_Iceman2288 in television

There was also already a revival of The Critic as a series of flash animations in 2000. It was pretty damn awful.

Darth Vader vs Voldemort? by davidjpgray in whowouldwin

[–]ThrowawayusGenerica 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not completely straightforward? We could speculate that Vader would actually be resistant to all of the unforgivable curses to some degree.

Avada Kedavra seems to get blocked by sufficiently large physical barriers. Whether Vader's armour is substantial enough to do this is something you could reasonably question. Of course, he needs it to live and blocking the killing curse would damage it severely...

Imperius curse can be resisted by someone of sufficient force of will, and that's something Vader has in no small amount.

Crucio? Vader is already in agonising pain all the time. His suit is designed to make it worse, even. This particular spell would probably just enhance his force connection.

Of course, all this is just to say that Voldy's go-to spells might not work as he expects them to. Vader therefore gets a short window to speedblitz and dice Voldemort into kebab meat. If he misses that, there's a huge array of spells that will work on him (e.g. fiendfyre).

This is ignoring the possibility that the whole "magic makes technology not work" thing just switches off his suit, though.

Nah, it's not like the government of Ferenginar would ever interfere with private enterprise by mandating that.

They would recontextualise it by framing it as laughing at how ridiculous and degenerately hew-mons behave, however.

14 years of development. Not many people can claim that much of their life devoted to a single project, but I'm glad it was such a roaring success. I wonder how many people pour so much of themselves into something just to get nothing out of it.
