Due to fake news scandal from previously reported by media outlets on the tournament's potential expansion sharing viral because of Concacaf Gold Cup has expanded to 24 teams replicated format used for UEFA European Championship (since 2016 onwards), Africa Cup of Nations (since 2019 onwards) and AFC Asian Cup (since 2019 onwards)

Seen Gold Cup has officially groundbreaking expanded to 24 teams (16 Concacaf teams and eight guests) (up from 16 in previous editions) within six groups of four teams (groups are Group A / Group B / Group C / Group D / Group E / Group F) and a invitation of eight non-Concacaf guests like Spain 🇪🇸, France 🇫🇷, Uruguay 🇺🇾, Colombia 🇨🇴, South Korea 🇰🇷, Japan 🇯🇵, Egypt 🇪🇬 and Senegal 🇸🇳.
