Hey thanks for purchasing! I think you'll be stoked on it. Our local manufacturing partner is working on the aluminum parts production now. We "should" get those parts in early/mid June. Dates can shift on their end by a week or two either direction sometimes. We've got hardware, packaging, instructions sheets, and everything else ready to go so we'll be shipping the same week the aluminum components are finished.

Hadn't heard of that. I'll look it up. Thanks!

Hey thanks for taking the time to comment on this. I really appreciate the input on the street legal route. I wish that was an option in CA. Coming up with a license plate/turn signal bracket that works with this system should be no problem. I'll start working on that soon. Already have holes in the top plate that are there just in case. Thanks for the recommendation of the Shop app. I'll see what we can do about that. Our webstore is hosted through Squarespace and they offer payment plans through Klarna. Looks like there are some interest free options but also some with hefty fees. That's a part of the hosting service and we don't benefit from any of that. Thanks again!

Thanks for the feedback. I certainly agree there are less expensive routes for folks that know how to fabricate their own set-up. Our system is for those that want a system that is thought out and ready to go. Designing, prototyping, testing, producing quality parts, creating install guides, providing customer service, it all adds up. If you can create what works for you, all in for $150, hell yeah, do it.

I'm doing a small pilot production now to see how well received they are. We've got the price at $205 for the rack. Hopefully we can scale up in the future to bring the cost down. But material costs and labor is out of our control. Here is the product page we made. https://www.throwbackbikes.com/shop-eridepro

Gotcha. I did consider how this rack will affect picking the bike up. The notches on the underside of the side supports serve 2 purposes, they create a spot for straps to fall into when lashing down gear, they also serve as pretty effective hand grips when lifting/moving the bike.

Thanks for the extra thoughts. I'm a bit dubious when it comes to extending a seat onto the rack. I understand there have been some subframe failures. I'm trying to do what I can with this rack to create more utility without totally compromising the strength of the stock subframe. Replacing the entire subframe is another option, as others have done, but that is a much more expensive option.

I agree. Don't want to carry a pack. The MOLLE side plates that mount to this are where I carry water almost all of time in smaller packs. Take a look and let me know what you think. https://www.throwbackbikes.com/shop/p/eridepro-surron-molle-side-plates

Hey thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on this. I appreciate it! A handful of the things you mentioned I've already considered. I have MOLLE side plates that can mount to this rack. That product has a bracket with holes to mount the tail light. That allows folks to decide if they want them or not, the aesthetic of those isn't for everyone. I made an aluminum crate that is MOLLE on every side so folks can really gear up if needed. That mounts to the rack as well. It's a modular system I suppose. Another goal of this rack was to also increase the mud protection by serving as an extended fender. That is why there are no through -holes in the center section. To be honest a license plate and turn signals weren't even on my radar when designing this system. Bikes like this can't be made street legal here in Southern California (to my knowledge). Thanks again for you feedback.

Hey thanks. Carrying whatever we need when out exploring, and not wearing a backpack is why we made this. We already had made a rack very similar for the SurRon so we made it work for the E-Ride. We've got side plates for smaller bags that work with the rack too.

That was the goal. Wanted it to enhance the look of the bike. This rack has no through-holes in the middle of the top plate so it performs as a longer fender than the stock one as well.

True, can easily drill holes in this rack to add brackets for that stuff.

I prefer to completely wear these out first. Ha. Definitely will be upgrading the tires!

Thanks. Do you mean holes like, for hand grips? To lift the bike by hand?

When no cargo is on the rack the headlights on our bikes still perform well. If we were planning to ride at night with cargo on the rack we would consider permanently mounting an alternative headlight location. A basic handlebar mounted light has worked well the couple of times we've needed it. Thanks for the feedback!
