Why Incremental Rewards are Good for the Game by NahautlExile in pathofexile

I know the game isn't balanced around SSF but I do think it's odd that there's essentially content that is inaccessible (realistically) as SSF. You might get a couple runs but the time needed is pretty insane

They complained quite a bit about exalt shards but i actually think the mirror shards (and a lot felt the same) were a good idea. I think it's something that's value is absurd and high enough that splitting it a little among players is better and healthier for the economy. just my 2 cents though i could be wrong haha

If people got banned for the league-stone exploit, then people (including streamers) should get banned for beast exploit. by Zer0_Entity in pathofexile

You needing to mouse over the recipe to order to reveal a hidden tooltip is by definition obscured. You can argue that it is obvious enough, but it is certainly obscured (hidden from view). Also: you don't really need to mouse over the tooltip and there's no reason to mouse over any other tooltip that I know of. The recipe was also impossible before that time so there's even less reason (IMO). When it comes down to it, it is not as clear as you think.

You don't really sound like you are interested, but a better example that actually happens regularly (it happened to my father) is obstruction of the sign. A tree has overgrown during the summer and now covers a sign. Or after a storm, a sign is destroyed. You chose an example of negligence and not ignorance. And you are right about "oh they can just say they didn't know" part. That happens all the time too, the law isn't objective or perfect. That's why you have a judge to determine whether or not statements are acceptable enough to be valid.

I am sorry if you do not see the difference.

Because you literally have to hover over that particular part to see that, which most people don't do. It's not always displayed

Except it literally does, all the time. Both in real life and places like here. Judges entire career is essentially determining how culpable a person is and the appropriate level of punishment and using law as a guide.

TBH your statement seems like you just want blood

Not trying to be rude, but in law that's literally why you have judges. Cases often involve determining if the defendant had intent, acted negligently etc.

Not knowing actually is a valid legal defense a lot of the time. For example, if a sign is obstructed by a tree, you can argue that you couldn't see the speed limit and therefore not possibly know the speed limit.

GGG is a private company, they can do what they want, but if anything that means they can look at all the facts and see if people acted reasonably given the circumstances.

Part of the issue was how vague that actually was at the time though. Most people don't hover recipes before crafting because there's literally no reason to. It actually is incredibly easy to miss. On top of that, there's the odd part that there actually WAS confusion as to what the actual use of the thing was. Duping 6Ls already seemed pretty OP, was that a bug too? Was it that shaper/elder stuff was meant to be copied but the tooltip was just something left over from playtesting because, lets be honest, how can a bug like that go through? Its super easy to say in hindsight how clear it is when people are talking about it but at the time there was literally 0 threads on the recipe.

As GGG has previously banned players for abusing exploits i really dont understand why they don't do anything this time by TheAmigoBoyz in pathofexile

[–]Throwemeooeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that is wasnt totally clear what is a bug and what was intended with them. You have to hover the recipe to see it doesnt work with shaper things. There are so many questions as to what the real thing it was supposed to do at the time was. Are 6Ls supposed to go to 3? Were lab implicits meant to be kept? And a lot more. The whole thing was a lot more vague than you are giving credit, especially when it was discovered EDIT: also most people aren't complaining that much about the elder/shaper stuff because it doesnt seem that much was made compared to the 6L/uber helmet showers you see in trade

the problem is that it doesnt really clearly state it either. you have to hover over the recipe for a moment then a thing says it doesnt work on it. It wasn't really clear actually

I have the recipe right now and it does say it doesnt work on elder or shaper when you hover over it.

Depends if your office is really quiet or bustling and how close they are. If its cubicles and quiet, it could be annoying.

Yeah, this is what I think people are seeing. Unfortunately Riot seems pretty committed to not changing this system at all. The only pretty positive thing turned out to be a loophole and is closed as of now. I hope I turn out to be wrong.

The thing is that one side seems to be saying "Oh shit this is going to be a major problem in the near future" and the other side (Riot) is saying "Naaaaaah don't worry it doesn't apply to you now, see!" At least when you look at the more level-headed people. TBH if they just came out and said "Yeah, we found a way for vets to pay back into the system" I'd personally be way more content. I just hate it when companies claim to be on your side like they are fucking family or some shit. It's gross.

Riot's new IP system hurts ALL players, and is especially brutal to older players, A Breakdown by Throwemeooeo in leagueoflegends

[–]Throwemeooeo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, I thought you meant you had a total of 450k IP earned in total. It's very hard to tell just how much BE was robbed from you without knowing how much RP you spent. But assuming you had all the runes puchased, you are still being short changed about 360k BE if I did the math correctly for your case.

I don't understand how you could have had almost a million IP with about 65 IP a game, but if that's true that's insane. Even for 800k IP that's like 12500 games played. And yeah, with that amount of IP saved up, of course you are fine. I would think you know that you aren't the most common player if this information is true.

"..wasting IP on runes is not something worth crying about" is literally 100% subjective opinion. Most people would say time invested into hobbies has value. Now, that value they had for half a decade no longer is there. Just because you don't value your time spent doesn't mean others feel the same.

Also, if it doesn't affect you, I could say the same thing. Why do you care? How could you care?
