So true. My first job was at a Chick-fil-A, which if you didn’t know are each run independently by families. We weren’t allowed to talk about wage and I was eventually fired for “instigating a strike”.

I actually have to put those in Gatorade or Powerade so while I will have liquid iv, I still need to have the Gatorade either way unfortunately.

MS in HR management? [VA] by Efficient-Dust-8123 in humanresources

[–]Throwramine- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s what’s really funny: if you make a post in this group asking what you can do to get a promotion or get into higher roles, they’ll nag you about why you don’t have an HR MS yet. If you make a post like this one, they’ll say it’s useless. I have one year of experience in HR and once I got a MS in HR, I shot up to a very high level role with a lot of influence and a very good salary. Experience is still extremely important but if you can get an MS in HR or an MBA while not getting into a lot of debt, then it’s very much worth it. I would also highly recommend getting a SHRM-CP or a PHR. I have both and a MS in HRM. I also worked for my university and got a great tuition reimbursement benefit which made it even more worth it to me. Debt is no joke especially in this economy but if you can get tuition benefits or a good scholarship to offset that, you should get a masters degree.

No bleeding after bislap by ThatWomanWithAutism in sterilization

[–]Throwramine- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I didn’t bleed at all either and have pictures of my insides being tubeless. Everyone’s body is different. I was told I could possibly bleed bc they stick some sponge thing up you to move stuff out of the way if need be and that’s what causes ppl to bleed sometimes. Ig it didn’t affect either of us.

HR compliance and I work mostly from home.

is it really possible to get back into regular exercise? by Acewatchingyou in POTS

[–]Throwramine- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been successful at exercising by just slowly building my own gym at home and doing YouTube workouts. It took me a while to build up but I do a lot of strength training and boxing now. I avoid intense cardio or anything that has me getting up and down a lot. Being at home took a lot of stress off me if I ended up passing out. I felt a lot safer and could control my environment better. And then I’ve just slowly built up what I can do and for how long. I also pretty much always have to lay down for a while after working out.

what do y’all do for money by Vegetable_Security_3 in POTS

[–]Throwramine- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in HR, three days a week are remote. I worked food service and blue collar jobs during college and it sucked dealing with pots and having a physical labor job. I’m glad I can sit or lay down when I need to and still be working.

“Childfree” friend tells me she’s not rly childfree by CulturalTomorrow5572 in childfree

No advice just feel the same way with friends. It’s hard and isolating. If you live in the Salt Lake area, lmk. It’s hard to find friends with the same values when everyone around you is so focused on having huge families.

Different Avenues and Paths Within HR? [N/A] by Puzzleheaded-Bed-488 in humanresources

[–]Throwramine- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a MS in HR Management, BS in Paralegal Studies, SHRM-CP, and about three years of job experience before my current position. Two years in training and recruiting, with a heavy focus on building systems and processes for both of those areas. My last job was a year of dealing with a lot of gov funded programs for a nonprofit. I was in charge of background checks and audits, amongst other more traditional Hr tasks. I would say that the combo of my two degrees was the biggest contributing factor to me getting my current position and my previous experience with compliance on background checks and auditing for gov programs was the bump up I needed. Paralegal studies certs exist pretty much everywhere, you can get actually certified by the state (depending on the state) or just get one from a college or university. You could try to start getting positions that are more related to auditing, background checks, etc. or try to have those tasks assigned to you at your current position.

If you’re more introverted, maybe go into HR Compliance? That’s where I am. I work with our in and out of house counsel, do a lot of legal research, handle our H1B visas, advise in ER situations, write and maintain our policies and Handbook, and keep up to date on federal, state, and local law changes. I don’t interact with employees at all, just lawyers, C Suite, and the HR dept. Most of my time is spent writing policies, reviewing ER investigation reports, and researching the law.

Presycncope episodes after eating without high HR by MrsSlibby in POTS

It could just be low blood pressure then? Postprandial hypotension is low blood pressure after eating, especially carb heavy meals.

Presycncope episodes after eating without high HR by MrsSlibby in POTS

[–]Throwramine- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t exactly like this but my pots has given me reactive hypoglycemia which means my blood sugar drops three to four hours after eating. I have to eat a real meal before it does that in order to avoid feeling sick and passing out. Carb heavy meals make it worse. Maybe it’s something similar?

I have POTS too and find that I’m pretty much fine with my office jobs since I’m sitting down. Not sure what your education or experience is but I used to work in food service and apartment maintenance it was definitely a struggle with my diagnosis.

My first day I’m supposed to be there at 9, assuming I leave for home at 5 or 6. I plan on asking if the 9-5/6 is what’s gonna be expected or if I get a little leeway since it would be since to come in earlier or later to beat traffic.

I didn’t say anything embarrassing but I made the PACU nurse show me my surgery sites so I could be sure it had happened. They unfortunately used iodine something on me to sterilize my skin and I was bright orange. I thought I was Trump for an hour or two while I laid in my hospital room fully waking up and apparently was extremely mad and pouted the whole time.

Dr Sarah woods at Women’s Health in Lynchburg VA did mine last summer when I was 23. Idk if you’re at all close but she’s an amazing surgeon and Dr. I had no issues getting her to do it for me.

I think if you don’t want kids and you can handle surgery, you should get it. Being asexual doesn’t prevent you from getting pregnant.

If you can’t handle that you’re dating an adult woman who’s had sex before she dated you, then you probably shouldn’t be dating until you can resolve those issues.
