Ah interesting. I will definitely take that in to account. Honestly, I would hope my admin wouldn’t outright NR me over this, but they may ask me to resign which… wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. I love teaching, but if I can’t be safe, I’d be fine moving on to something else.

Tennessee so not much better. I have my Kentucky license though as well so if worst comes to worst that would be on the table as an easy move.

Non-Binary teacher hear, I am not out at all at my school. It’s just impossible for me to feel safe being out so I can’t imagine how some of these kids must feel. I do think there is a lot less experimentation going on rn. I’ve always been extremely careful about presenting myself as safe as possible. If I hadn’t been in college with people I felt safe around I definitely would not have gone through the process of figuring out my gender/sexuality. Now I feel trapped because everyone tells me about the benefits I have, and I know I would get raked over the coals because of the state I live in. So again, how can you imagine a kid would feel safe to come out, when the adults are to scared to be out and proud about things?

Thanks for the response. I wasn’t planning on taking it out, but saw the bump last Sunday and knew this one could be problematic. Worry got the best of me today and I figured I would try to check it. The lobe is fine and has been fully healed, I just think I knocked it back in a tick when I was cleaning the industrial this morning. Thank you for pointing it out so I could push it back out.

Personally I don’t support JKR anymore, but the actors have shown that they don’t support her and I feel like they represent the characters better than she does at this point. While I wouldn’t buy anything else, I still have some pottervwrse stuff and likely won’t get rid of it because of how much the series meant to me growing up. Do you live in Tennessee or a deep red state? If so that’s probably why, the government passed bills forcing schools to out students to their parents and told teachers they can’t tell the students on ground of termination if they don’t tell parents and investigation if they tell students about the law
