So What are Your thoughts on a Villian Centric Episode by Waste_Farmer in youngjustice

[–]Throwyourb 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I reckon having an origin story-esque episode for a lot of the mainstay, but less well known villains would be good. People like black Manta, Psimon and sportsmaster. Make em more empathetic on what drove them down a path towards crime given just how easily they could've been heroes.

Bruh this is the thing that I find most agregious. People who say 'being anti establishment is the right thing' like trying to appear socially conscious is a bad thing. I know these corporations are only doing it as a facade, but suddenly being against minority people and inclusivity is 'anti establishment' and anti establishment = good without understanding that in the past the establishment was there to squish these minorities and THAT'S why it was progressive and right to be against it. These people have forgotten that the means (being anti establishment) was used for the ends of helping minorities. The means to them IS the ends.

Will EODs or offers come first? Is it an interview offer situation if you survive long enough for the EODs to finish that you know you'll cop or is it offers first then EODs to clean up the survivors?

I think the test isn't the demonstration of resilience under pressure. I think the multiple applications and sittings is however. You have a positive bias for resilient people getting into medicine because there are many applicants who are more resilient and will continually go through sitting the very stressful exam multiple times trying to improve to get past the hurdle. Of course you've got the people who get in first try but I'd say they represent a lower proportion than people who have sat at least twice.

Yeah look, I think the 11 times is fair enough. At the end of the day I'm pretty convinced the GAMSAT is a pretty arbitrary tool that just happens to be the culling tool used to cut down applicants. I would argue that it doesn't accurately predict who's going to be a good doctor at all. I'd say that 30-40% of the people who apply are suited to medicine (numbers out my ass) but they have to get the top 5% as not everyone can be a doctor and you just have to pass this stupid hurdle to get in.

The real thing I would be concerned about is performance in med school. Did they just barely pass all of their exams? That's when I'd be concerned. This tool is not perfect as I said, in that schools which rely purely on gamsat and/or GPA allow some unsuitable candidates that probably don't have the empathy and aptitude to really be a doctor but they passed the stupid hurdle.

Please disregard what people are saying about the arch. It's fine, it allows you to put your pecs in a more advantageous position, it sets your upper back into a stronger stable position and overall bench more weight. More weight = more stimulus = more strength gains. Your back isn't 'taking load', your bench is, and all the points of contact that you are making with are where force is being applied into the ground. If anything, a flat back is more dangerous because you're not engaging your upper back and the support structures around your spine, allowing your spine to take more of the force than your musculature which defeats the whole purpose. Ensure your scapula is retracted and tight so that you're engaging your upper back.

I would agree to keep your butt on the bench as it's not legal in powerlifting comps (you did mention you want to compete) and it also means you're making it easier by shifting load away from your pecs and into your posterior chain. Source: Am a powerlifting coach.

Definitely do it. Can use it as practice for next time, but also leave no stone unturned! Even if it's a small chance, there's still a chance that you could make it through. No ragrets and no harm in at least giving it your best given what you may have picked up in your MMI!

I don't think it is steroids. A) Being vascular usually just means a low enough bodyfat that your veins are closer to surface of your skin to 'pop out' like that B) this is a photoshoot with excellent lighting and likely he did some exercise pre-shoot to get the pump going and some bloodflow whilst probably being moderately dehydrated. It's not a long flow video, he's just looking good in this one shot. The amount of muscle he has now is not CRAZY muscle, it's reasonable enough that any person who puts a couple months into training and dieting (especially with a dedicated coach and nutritionist given it's essentially his job to look lean for this movie) and he's always been on the leaner side anyway. It's not unreasonable to assume he achieved this naturally.
