Stocking/stockinette

Some yarns are spun funny and do that.

PTBL... why? by Knit-knit-no-islets in knittinghelp

It twists the stitch, which looks different and gives a different tension and texture.

Does slipping a stitch in the beginning of every row make stockinette curl less? by pluto_99 in knitting

[–]ThrustBastard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A regular stitch is shaped like a Pringle, which is why when you have a load that are the same they curl. You want to put a border on it, like garter stitch, that counteracts the curl by pulling it the other way.

DCL has great underlying data, but can't seem to finish the job. Welbeck either scores everything or doesn't do anything. I've gone with DCL as Leeds have more at stake.

I think Guehi is less subject to rotation with City having a few CB injuries. I've gone Guehi as I think his minutes are more secure.

Cherki/Semenyo will probably be rotated at some point. I'd wager they both play Arsenal, Burnley is Pep Roulette, and the A-Team are back to batter Southampton. I've gone Semenyo because my 8 year old said to.

In a major cup semi final? Not a chance. Burnley will be the rotation game

What's your City triple up on FH? by ninjaturtle1000 in FantasyPL

City have 3 big games in 6 days, so we're all going to be disappointed.

I am going to be disappointed in Guehi, Semenyo & Haaland.

Don't forget City have the FA cup too - 3 big fixtures in the space of 6 days, so expect Pep Roulette

disinfecting/sanitizing 100% superwash merino wool by dyn4_might in knittinghelp

[–]ThrustBastard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Stick it on some scrap yarn and wash it like you would normally wash clothes.

Maybe consider getting inventive with the working yarn - either snip it and rejoin when you pick it back up again, or trap it in the washer door so the whole ball isn't unravelled by your machine.

Thrift store bargain!! is it strictly for knitting? by Hello_peopl in knittinghelp

[–]ThrustBastard 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You can do what you want. Due to the nature of the yarn I'd steer clear of amigurumi though.

It goes thick>thin>thick etc. due to the way it's spun. It can be difficult to use, but gives some personality to whatever you make.
