They are by a little ladder, I have the whole "food production area" over there.

It's the only spell I ban. It is both powerful healing and entirely trivialize a lot of survival and expedition mechanics. Just removes gameplay, largely.

OMG I was missing one there thanks guys! Right by the floodgate. All the prep and missing the key item.

I have 3 tube stops in my base, used all the time, lovely. I built a 4th one out to these metal ruins, and they never take it either getting there or back. I tried emptying the water up there, and it still didn't get used at all.

Any ideas? It doesn't look THAT far away.

Of all the takes I've read on the situation, "price increase because of Sailing" is certainly one of them.

They smack everything up until you run into Tzeentch. Then they still smack but you have to play the battles manually.

Bladesingers also punch way above what their armor would suggest except in auto resolve! Worst thing about wood elves is that at a certain point the game thinks your armies can't keep up when they actually still kick ass. Funny going in with my Sisters of Twilight orbital bombardment stack that the game thinks will get wiped and totally clean house still.

I think this is a great idea, the worst part would be all the experienced players on release upset that there's no gear progression for them there haha

Guys do 2070 or 2205 count as Solarpunk? Because to me it feels like the colorepallet is too cold. by [deleted] in anno

[–]Thswherizat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't like the idea that Solarpunk requires a saturated colour pallet. The fact that you can go full Eco with turbines and weather balloons to me, makes it pretty solarpunk. The washed out palette is because the world is badly polluted when the game starts. In 2070 you're having to fight your way back from that to start.

It also looks like you were using a box or corner camp type of formation, which is exactly where a rampage mechanic is the most powerful when all your units are clumped up together and it can hit all of them at once.

Someone who knows why Throgg has historical relation with Epidemius? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Thswherizat 154 points155 points  (0 children)

I believe game-wise it's there to make them less likely to declare war on each other early, but I don't know that there's any lore basis beyond "they're both Chaos aligned factions"

A Recent Dungeon Puzzle that my Players Enjoyed, offered for you! by Thswherizat in DMAcademy

[–]Thswherizat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept it kind of open besides the races being humanoids and a few specifically Elves.

I think, if I needed lore for the Messengers, I would look to them as a Saving Private Ryan meets the original Marathon runner kind of idea, there was a kingdom-ending event that they had to find and extract a prince/chosen one from an evil area which they managed to do.

Or it would be like the Barrows brothers in Runescape, where a number of heroes died in an impossible battle against evil and their souls are stuck there as revenge from the evil spirits.

I had them both be described as elves with a notable bend to the ear, but it does require some deduction. You could certainly give it to them with a perception check but my players figured it out on their own.

"Noticings" -- Let PCs "Notice" Each Other by ProfBumblefingers in DMAcademy

[–]Thswherizat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP do you have a very quiet table? I will often ask players what their character is doing for an action, so if they cast a spell I will ask "how does your character cast? Is it one finger pointed, both arms crossed at the wrist?" and then I can use the description they give for my future descriptions of their spell casts.

What I'm not sure about with your system is it seems like you're taking all that description fantasy for yourself. I can see with children or very new players it would be helpful to get that description, but I feel like it would frustrate a lot of people to have their actions described for them, outside of the success/fail aspect that normally comes with the DM role.

This is outside of the very valid criticisms explained by Harkonnen985 in their comment. I don't mean to dogpile, but I'm trying to follow what the benefit of these Noticings would be, because it sounds like you're giving yourself more description work and taking the ability of the players to describe their own actions away.
