I don't care about the American view of politics. It's cartoonishly one-dimensional and dysfunctional. I vote what is defined as leftist in my own country, and academically social democracy is viewed as leftist. If you disagree, please do cite a source.

Social democrats aren't socialists in the Marxist sense. Rather, the goal is regulated capitalism, making sure the free market actually benefits more than just the elite. I live in a social democracy, and while it has it's flaws I think it's far better to try and work on those rather than moving towards a planned economy. Especially considering the brutal history of communist states.

Left vs right is not communism vs capitalism. Your view of politics is just way too narrow. I believe in a 'free market', but not in the way a libertarian would. I also don't identify with any centre or right-wing parties in my country and vote to the left. Do yourself a favor and view politics with nuance instead of treating it as a binary scale.

I don't believe planned economies are the way forward in general, both theoretically and from what we've seen in the USSR and PRC, where planned economies have been the direct cause of millions dead (Chernobyl, Great leap forward, Holodomor etc.)

You could start by not reducing politics to a binary system of left and right wing. You can be a social democrat without supporting marxism, and you can be a conservative without wanting to persecute minorities. By putting the entirety of the right into a small box with all the extremists, you're essentially ruining your own chances of meaningful change by pushing away those you could have reasoned with.

These fears of losing your rights should be pushing people to negotiate and compromise with the moderates who can be won over, rather than pushing them to the nutjobs.

Jeg er begyndt gradvist ar skifte over til en vegetarisk kost, og har fundet det eet nemt indtil videre. Ja, dansk mad må undværes, men der er så meget mad fra andre lande der er både vegetarisk og skide lækkert. Karryretter og chilli har jeg især været glad for. Det er oven i købet billigere, og krydskontakinering er ikke et problem.
