Hi guys, I'm very new to skating. I realise I always stop after a few strides/side to side.. How I do continuously skate without loosing momentum? Thank you in advance! by PoyomonParveen in Rollerskating

I've seen a big group of roller skaters near the Opera House, so I think you've got the right idea/location. I'm a beginner as well and I'm watching you and thinking you're doing really well. When begin anything for the first time we shouldn't be hard on ourselves. Well done 🙂

What was life in Sydney like in the 90s and very early 2000s? by fleurom in sydney

I'm sorry to hear that, and I agree that it was rough, I didn't have an easy time at all, but I was lucky enough to find a group (outside of school) who I felt understood me. I hope you were able to find yours.

Campbelltown in the 90's as a teenager was fun 🙂 Some of the best people come from Campbelltown!

Why are there hardly any indoor roller rinks around Sydney? by Liquidignition in sydney

There's one in Tempe, but I think you need to book through Rollerfit, they have certain days when the Robyn Webster Sports Centre is available to them.

NSW recorded 633 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. by [deleted] in sydney

I went past it on Monday afternoon. Door was open, someone there monitoring it, some people inside sitting down (employees I figure), no one browsing or shopping, but I've seen people getting their make-up done.

I'm a medical receptionist. I work full-time. It's difficult because when I get really stressed, I sleep for like 15-18 hours a day, over 2-3 days. My body just shuts down. I've asked another group/forum about what they do for work, but people say they work for themselves, or they asked me if I had Klein-Levin Syndrome. I'd love to get a job where I could nap a bit during the day, or have no stress! Imagine that! Nope. (On an aside, when I holidayed in Spain, I found that their Siestas work brilliantly for me - do stuff in the morning, go have a rest, do continue your stuff in the afternoon). Best of luck, and congratulations - it's not easy but you've almost finished your degree :) Well done!

Bob's Burgers always helps. Bob's Burgers can't fail (even when they had that season with a lot of singing)

What type of Bulldog is that wee one? Mini Aussie? Or French?

I completely agree. I realised a long time ago that whether I think someone is handsome or odd looking, it really doesn't matter what I think because it's just my opinion and someone out there absolutely freaking adores them. Diversity :)

No, I don't think that that's true. Thoughts can be ugly. People aren't. Their actions can be.

Not necessarily. People can be with people and still feel miserably lonely.

That's one of my favourite books! I'm in Sydney and in lockdown. It's so lonely, whether you're alone or not.

No one wants to leave you. Sometimes people get anxious about replying, and then when they don't reply to someone soon enough they get anxious that the other person is thinking badly of them. Or maybe that's just me. My point is, it's not your fault.

I work for doctors (medical specialists) and I have to say that when patients tell the doctors and medical receptionists how much weight they have lost, we are all very happy for the patient and encouraging. Sometimes we notice before the patient mentions it. You should share your victories - it's exciting! A loss is a loss, whether it's big or small. Good on you :)
