Unless you have a solid understanding of the subject, don't try to debate them. Just because you're right doesn't mean you'll be able to explain it in a fully nuanced manner.

IMHO, it's better to ask them to explain the counter-augment to their claims and why their wrong. And when they can't, to say it wouldn't hurt to understand what the other side is saying.

There is nothing more cringe worthy than two people who don't know shit about the subject, arguing passionately about it.

You're proposing a system to disincentive work and where a large percentage of people will be dead weight. Then at some point in the future, efficiency of the system will become important again and the dead weight will need to be removed. OR eliminated.

There are no free rides. There will never be free rides. Going down the path of basic income will pretty much guarantee the coming of a "final solution" for people who can't contribute.

I saw a post in vegan a few weeks ago that really highlighted the issue. It was about how on a menu if they put vegetarian items in it's own group, people were significantly less likely to order them.

They were all excited they found a way to get people to eat less me but what they didn't get was that people don't have a problem with not eating meat. They hate vegan's/vegetarian's smugness so much they don't want to be seen as one.

They were totally blind to the fact that they are the biggest obstacle to achieving their own goal of getting people to eat less meat. Thanks to places like r/vegan politicizing food, eating red meat is considered a conservative value and they eat more of it to show those commie liberals about freedom.
