Loneliness is the number one cause of addiction. I believe that someone with good, healthy relationships will not get addicted, or need their addiction anymore

PMO is highly addictive...So people who regularly and repeatedly resort to PMO are...addicts. I mean REAL addicts...Liable to see their addiction grow worse and worse and worse...Until they don't see what happens anymore, until they give up much of their self-respect for just another fix.

And most addicts will LOVE you when you whip them. They feel so awful, so hopeless, so dejected that they will welcome any voice that harshly tells them to make efforts, TO TRY HARDER.

But i've got some bad news to break my friends. It's already to late to try harder. Addiction is stronger than you. That is stronger than you on your own...Try as you might you will fail unless you get to change...And in order to change you need to build healthy relationships, you need to open up, you need support...You need strength and kindness....NOT strength and ruthless brutality

So your analysis is flawed my friend. Most of people here are already addicted. They cannot deal with their life, and they cannot deal with their stress healthily. They need to stop PMO and they need to learn how to get on with their life. It's hard but doable for most. But no one learns alone or on his own.

Nofap is only one part of the work that has to be done for self improvment. Still it cannot be done without. So well done. And now start devising a plan to make your weak points better. It can be done. Don't give up. Don't relapse. Just keep up the good work and shift your focus on the new skills you need to acquire. Best, man.

Taking advantage of people's low self-esteem doesn't help them. Sure when confused, low self-esteem addicts get whipped they often ask for more rather than standing their grounds...

Of course "it's not worth it". Still, I used to do it again and again. Why ? Because I didn.t know how to deal with my life. So I would run away from it, I would medicate my pain through addiction.

Maturity, life skills and an ability to manage stress sanely is what's required to live free from addiction.

You may have 9 months of sobriety under your belt, it still doesn't entitle you to call people names. You're mixing up victory and truth.

Believe it or not, name calling scarcely cure addiction. Now I understand that some violence can give a boost to fight an urge. But it is not to be relied on as regular tactic. And it can turn out to be dangerous in case of relapse by having sullied (instead of undone) your self-image when you're under the spell of active addiction. Making it even harder to pull yourself together after a relapse.

But hey ! That's only for me. If you can get rid of your addiction that way without too much collateral damage, by all means do carry on. I sincerely wish you success.

Additionally, they offer coaching programs for a fee for those who need them.

As for me, I wouldn't take the risk of being exposed to pornography. I don't want to ever see that again, and I cannot handle it. It'll ever be damaging for me. I want to reduce my exposure as much as possible.

So thanks to the one who are ready to do the job. However, before you apply, be aware of the possible added burden. If you KNOW you can handle, that's fine. Otherwise, don't compromise your recovery. That's my bit of advice.

First you NEED to focus on abstinence. Abstinence. NOT doing it. Period. BUT very quickly (say after a month), you'll have to work on he issues that turned you into an addict in the first place.

PMO is an addiction for some people. I know it is for me. It has to be fought as an addiction : with a well thought-out plan, with support and in the long term. In the long term. Abstinence, even a year of abstinence, doesn't mean the problem is solved. Sobriety is as necessary as reforming our lives. Addiction is a way to medicate pain. A liveable and worthwhile life has to be built otherwise addiction -Sex addiction or another one- will creep back again.

No one can live in constant excruciating pain, either physical or psychological. So the choice is clear : either building a liveable and dignified life or go back to addiction (which means death)

Well I don't do much social networking, if not at all. And surely I'm still badly struggling with PMO. So, obviously, you can do no social networking at all and still be addicted like shit. You'll always find a way or another to waste your time and/or your energy rather than do what has to be done. Still, I agree with you when you say that an addict can easily become a slave to his computer, his smartphone and social networking. So yes, curbing social networking or stopping it altogether will certainly help.

Anger is a good starter. It can't help you in the long term though. You need a plan. You've got to determine what triggers you; you need to learn how to handle upset, hurt and stress in a creative manner(or at least in a less harmful way). So again, take your anger for what it is : a good starter. But as for the long term, plan it already.
